All that priceless stuff went up for auction. Fulham bought some seats, Vale bought half the floodlights ... but who bought the stuffed kangeroo? Link - lots of photos

17 Years!! Has anyone got a good image of the Boothen Stand from Boothen end or Butler street? I had an ad board for last (couple?) of seasons. I never took a picture, would love one for nostalgia. Found this on web with a copyright straight through it.

Hi mate, I should have some images that you want, I was the guy who put on the brick by brick photographic exhibition on earlier this year to commemorate the Vic, can you let me know which company your board was advertising. Also any fellow Stokies who would like a framed exhibition print of the Vic for Crimbo etc send me a PM

I absolutely loved 'The Vic' but I hated not rebuilding the roof over the corner at the river's edge! Were there any plans to put a roof over the corner?

Nicholasjalcock, was that the corner where the clock used to be? If so it would have needed extensive work on it as it was all rotten as a pear mate.

Saddens me everyday as I walk past that overgrown and dogshit infested patch of waste ground. Also miss going up the floodlights as a teenager for a smoke, it was a cracking view from up there.

It used to be like all The Butler Street stand before the roof blew off. Just left it open for the rain to rot it. They said it was too difficult thereby expensive to put the roof back on as it overhang the river. Always looked odd?

Although moving was probably inevitable, it's a real shame that none of the heritage remains - I see Maine Road is now flats with the centre circle preserved, and the stand at Highbury was converted. As mentioned above, the Vic - just a wasteland I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure that the Victoria Ground is the only old ground that remains derelict. I think there's been redevelopment on all the other sites with the exception of the Vetch Field, although Swansea's council are using the land as allotments until the site is developed, so at least it isn't an eyesore like the Vic currently is.

Maybe we should start a campaign to force the Council into building a football museum on the land, after all it would bring much needed revenue to Stoke and more tourists to the city, or am I being too sensible for this Council of ours

Its an absolute disgrace that nothing has been done with the site in all the years that have passed.Even the Baseball Ground which was/is in the biggest shithole in Derby has a new housing estate on it.

The vetch is more like a community park space. Looks quite good hemmed in between the houses.
It is however a total disgrace that the vic stands empty. However if it stays empty for another 100 years we may move back as the brit will be knackered by then.

I'm glad nothing has been done with it, means you can still go take a nostalgic walk around on match day.
The alternative is a shit load of project housing and the memory has gone.
