Or does the stoke city charity roll into town? personally I think we have a very good chance of returning from anfield with all three points.last year the goals from suarez&sturridge papered over the cracks.they cant defend and Gerrard is way past his best.now they are struggling to score. Brenda rogers has allways been a bit of a deluded fool(same as roy) if we can keep them out for the first 20 mins(and we will have to do better than we did at spurs, harry kane should have scored that chance)we can then take a foothold in the game. I am sure the fans that go will give sterling support to the lads including moses/arnie gooooaaarrrrnnnnn stoke

It would & will be an excellent time to play the Bindippers. Being Stoke, they will no doubt go there & after a home performance which was poor, play the away game which has reaped awards so far, and end that winless streak at Anfield. That in turn will cause more "what if" derision on the Oatcake, as many posters dwell on the fact that IF we hadn't been so poor at home so far this season we would be 5th!
Oh and a side note, maybe a golden chance for Marko to sparkle & remind the doubters (me included) of what a gem he can be

I think it will be a lot tougher than people are suggesting. I think we'll get something out of the game but they will come at us all guns blazing, which I think might play into our hands. We will have to stand and tough out the first 30 minutes.
Forget the Champions League this week, they are desperate for a result in the league.

I'm pretty sure that any team desperate for a result looks at the fixture list and thanks their lucky stars that Stoke City are rolling into town.
Get your money on a Liverpool win and Ballotelli to end his Premier League goal drought!

I'll be very surprised if they don't get at least 2 pennas and we will be down to 10 men early doors.

Get your money on a Liverpool win and Ballotelli to end his Premier League goal drought! Yes, you are right - I bet they were dancing the conga in the streets of Tottenham the week before our visit the other week. They needed a win and by god they got one - two weeks later at Hull!

The way this season's going, and the way we seem set up to play, I feel more confident against the traditional top seven sides than against our natural peers.

Definitely goals in it. Neither of us can defend at the moment.

I've been reasonably happy with our away from. Our poorer performances away have come against the poorest teams we have faced. Put it this way, I'm glad we are facing Liverpool this weekend rather then a team in the bottom 6. They won't sit back and they have a dodgy defence - at the moment that sort of team gives us our best chance of an upset.

I don't disagree and shit teams who think they're great (I.e Spurs and Liverpool) give is a great chance of surprising people. The gist of my original post remains true and we are without doubt British footballs biggest charity case. For the boards resident pedant, you really aren't very good at it. For the record, Spurs have now won 3 of their last 4 games!

I echo a lot of what has been said above.
Theoretically it should be a great time to face them, but they still have some excellent players (I think Can and Lucas will come in to shore up their midfield both of whom I rate) and are still hugely dangerous at home, particularly with the vocal backing they will get.
I think we'll get beat quite comfortably, although, as with the Spurs game, it all depends on how much we want it and how much their midweek excursion tires them out.

Depends how we start and who scores the first goal. We need to get their crowds on their own players backs.

Has to be a good time to go there & every chance of coming away with at least a draw. They play wednesday night away in a vital Champions League game & will field their best team. They are in poor form & as against Spurs who played in Europe mid week I expect us to get something. We are good when teams come at us rather than sitting back .

Nobody knows.
We're such a Jekyll and Hyde team at the moment that it doesn't matter who we're playing. One minute we're beating and outplaying a team whose bench cost more than our entire squad and the next we're losing to a team that are going down.
The most frustrating thing for me is that we haven't really been outplayed by anyone yet. The games we've lost have been down to us gifting goal after goal to the opposition.

If there was ever a better time to play them I cant remember. If we score first then the fans will be booing Brenda and putting their own team under pressure.
Anfield is traditionally a fortress but if they get knocked out of the Champions League this week, their season will be over (bar the domestic cups)
