By all accounts he's been brilliant at Derby. Give bego something to think about? Or with wanting bego to extend his contract can we afford to potentially piss him off?

Bego would be better if he had 2 good centre halves in front of him for protection

Last thing we need to do is unsettle Asimir. Besides Butland is on his way to Orlando.

A bloke on Radio Stoke was complaining that we are conceding goal and Bego doesn't make world class saves any more.
How can he make world class saves every week when there aren't any world class shots for him to save? How can he save goals when they're mostly from four yards out?

It's always good to have competition for places and Bego produced some of his best form when he was fighting Sorensen for the shirt. Some time after Bego had become first choice, Pulis dropped him due to the 5-0 debacle at Bolton, when Bego was arguably at fault for maybe three of the goals. Then he dropped Tommy for Bego when he thought performances merited it. Bego came back in better form than ever.
Nowadays, it doesn't much matter how Bego performs, we all know he will be in the squad the following week. It's unlikely he has gone from world class to rubbish over night, but maybe he has become a little too complacent? Maybe it's time to recall Butland to have someone breathing down Bego's neck?

There's still lots of discussion re goalkeeper transfers Bego seems to have slipped under radar re links to some of the big clubs. His value has probably gone down, he's already been instrumental in securing points for us but I do see Butland as the future. Just how long will he want to stay here without 1st team football

David Seaman on Sky Goals on Sunday now saying how important a consitent back 4 is to support their gk at any level. Very applicable at the momenr

Begovic culpable again for their first. He's made more mistakes this season than he's made in the previous 3 seasons combined.
Having a regular back 4 where 2 of the 4 cant defend doesn't help the goalkeeper too much.
I don't think asmir expected to be here and he's playing like his mind is elsewhere.
Should we drop him? Don't be so silly!

Jack won't be going Orlando IMO, people have just saw connections and made assumptions, he won't premier league games not MLS, that won't do anything to further his career.if anything a new loan deal with be sort with Derby

Keep our options open until the end of the January transfer window, then consider whether Derby is the best one.
It would be a shame to see him leave
We need to make a decision on Bego re a new contract or a sale while we can gat a good price for him if he is to move on

I didn't realise that is the situation at Derby - a pity for both parties. I still believe that it would be sensible to wait until the end of the transfer window before committing Jack to another club. I believe we could still loan him out after that point? My head says keep Bego here for as long as possible My heart says, get Butland involved now, we should be safe in this division!

We certainly wouldn't be any worse off if we gave him a run in team. Whilst Begovic hasn't made any glaring mistakes this season you could count on one hand the amount of saves he has made.
For me it sends out the wrong message if Begovic keeps his place despite being well below par so far this season. It's not like we'd be bringing in a sub-standard replacement, Butland has done very well for us whenever called upon and has had a very good spell at Derby. A spell on the bench might just be what Begovic needs to get his focus back.

Or to force a move and leave. All because he hasn't stopped about 10 tap ins that have been caused by piss poor defending. No thanks.

If we drop Bego we drop his value too. I think it's time to sell him in January, he's a top keeper but we have to give Butland first team football eventually and realistically Bego's probably at the peak of his career currently and worth a bit of cash!

Put Butland in and it's as good as putting a for sale sign on the forehead of Bego.

I can't be arsed to analyse every goal we've conceded but to suggest they've all been tap ins and Begovic couldn't have done anything is ridiculous. I'm a huge Begovic fan and before this season I was adamant he was the best keeper in the league. His performances this season haven't warranted him staying in the team, especially if its going to hinder the development of Butland who has all the attributes to become every bit as good as Begovic. I couldn't give a fuck if dropping him knocks a couple of million off his value, the team comes first.

Leicester, Villa, Hull, 2 x yesterday, West Ham so that's 6 for starters, I was exagerrating (I always do) but I just don't think there's much he could to stop many of the goals we've conceded this season. He's fine, the problems are in front of him.

Villa's goal was not a tap in, it was a tame shot he should of saved and the Hull goal was only a tap in because he parried the ball straight to the striker, just like he did yesterday. West Hams equaliser was another tame shot he got his hand to and should of saved. His positioning for the QPR free kick was also poor. I agree the defence don't help him one bit, but a shit defence hasn't affected him in the past. I wouldn't say he's fine at all, he's nowhere near the standard of the last couple of seasons and if a spell on the bench is what it takes to get him back to his best then surely it'd be worth doing.

It was from a few yards and he's going from right to left, he probably should do better but it's tough. I don't blame him for the Hull goal, he parried it wide (where he should do) where Wilson is goal side of the striker, Wilson has to win that. West Ham's equaliser came through a load of players, he wouldn't have seen it until it was on him, no way he saves it. QPR-I agree. That and the Villa goals are the only ones I think he should save, the rest I don't especially West Ham's second, that's just ludicrous.
