We have got to be amongst the worst fans in the country? We sit there waiting for something to happen and when it doesn't happen we moan and boo our own players instead of getting behind them and trying to lift them. The atmosphere hit an all time low today and we as fans should be ashamed of our efforts this afternoon. How about the players giving us supporters a lift for once straight from the off?. Pretty revolutionary I know but it might just work. Like against West Ham you mean? Don't try and pretend that our atmosphere is anything other than shit these days because it will just make you look dafter than you already look.

I don't think it was that bad tbh. It could have been a lot worse. It could have been better. It was no worse than what went on, on the field of play. It is a two way street. I know some people don't like that.....but it is. I heard quite a lot of loud booing not long after going two down. No matter how you try and dress it up,that is shit support so early in the game, regardless of any two way streets. I'm glad you heard the booing, I did too and it was definitely aimed the players despite what some people on Twitter (hello!) say. I didn't boo, was it deserved? Probably for a split second. Could/should we have been better, yes. Was it that bad? I don't think so.

I heard them do that "Burnley! Burnley!" nonsense but not much more tbh. Just a wank game of football from all points of view I thought....unless you are a Burnley fan. Cracking win for them, bastards.

Doesn't help that our song choice is....'goarn stoke goarn stoke', and er...'goarn stoke, goarn stoke'.
And the fans did used to set the tone. Oh when the reds got belted out by all four stands on their feet as the first ball was kicked every game. That used to set the tone and scare most teams to death.

I have to agree the crowd only get going when the referee makes poor decisions.
No support at home. Unless we happen to be playing top 6 team.
The lack of support is actually embarrassing.

I think our atmosphere now is mostly a very distinctive complaining groan at the referee/opposition player for any misdemeanor whatsoever. It's surprisingly loud.
The thing is, wherever you go in the country, it's only the away supporters who make any noise, anywhere. Everyone is rubbish at home and we're still probably better than most (somehow). We've just set the bar very high for ourselves.

We're nowt special, just football supporters who have ups n downs and react accordingly exactly the same as all the other teams, unless you can name a set of supporters in the prem that are different? Think back when we thought it was fantastic cos there was 14,000 turned up for a big game???? now people moan cos the south stand didn't sing????????

What the fuck has me criticising the feeble efforts at song writing on here got to do with the lack of atmosphere on a match day? You do realise that about 25,000 Stoke supporters at every home game don't even look at this site don't you? Unless of course you actually disagree with my OP and think that our atmosphere was good yesterday? Like you say, timeless and beyond belief.

Not keen on the boos at the end I was more concerned at the boos when Diouf mis-controlled a ball after about 15 mins to be honest.

Somebody needs to have a look in the Dictionary for the word "Support" I would be very surprised if it said anything about the item being supported deserving that support and I could give numerous examples.
I hope these people support their family and friends that they are supposed to support better than they support their club!
I for one expected yesterday's result although only 0-1 the game after the international break is the one where the lower clubs with few international players target more established clubs.
They have had very few if any players away and training hard whilst a majority of our players having been half way across the globe training differently they then travel back on a Thursday are jetlagged and before they know where they are they are on the pitch at the Brit.
We did it to other teams when we had few internationals now people are doing it to us!
My opinion is its ridiculous that if you have played in Europe you get an extra day to recover if the heart of your team has been at the other side of the globe you have to play Saturday Ridiculous
Before anybody has a go at me they need to confirm that 36hrs after they have flown back in from a far flung holiday they do their best work in the first ten mins after they arrive!
If you mention money please don't be so stupid to get where they have they needed to be ultra competitive when they get on the field money doesn't come into it.
I could go on but the time between now and the next international break is what will shape the premier league 14/15.

I heard the crowd urging the team on straight after the first goal went in. Cant blame people for being annoyed and frustrated at that shower we watched yesterday. Happy clapping isnt for everyone.

Always make me laugh when someone goes on about us having to give players who are earning between £20000 and £50000 a week and we pay to get in to watch a "lift"

I noticed a few people near the front of the Novus Stand screaming specifically at Jon Walters when Burnley went 2-0 up, he reacted to them and I don't blame him because I can't recall how he was at fault for either of their goals yesterday. The only time I would boo a Stoke City team off was if it was clear to me that there was a lack of effort from the players. I don't think yesterday's defeat or any other defeat this season has been because of a lack of effort, I just think we are making a lot of costly mistakes at the moment and we aren't turning the possession we have into enough clear cut chances. Things have to improve and we have to start learning to handle the expectation of being favourites in certain games, at the moment I think both the fans and the players relax and enjoy games more when we aren't the favourites.

I'm at the back of the south stand and a lot of them sit / stand like dummies. The boothen end though are just shit at the moment. Disgrace. I have to agree! I stand at the back of block 22 and I always join in when the songs start or try to get it started, but everyone just sits there and doesn't join in
