Goal 1 - Muni gave ball away when he should have simply kicked it off for a throw. Ball worked across pitch led to the goal.
Goal 2 - Bards a yard in front of his man, but decided to lunge at the ball, missed it. Ball worked across the box, led to goal two.
Apart from that they had a good 2nd half, but they already created the mountain we could not climb.

First 20 minutes they were out of position on both flanks. Most not talked about problem today was that 5 minute spell from them.

Agree. 1st 20 minutes Muniesa was lost and Bardsley was shite.

Not quite sure why Geoff stopped for their 2nd goal. I can only assume he thought he could play them offside. If he had continued his run he would have stopped the cross. Small margins eh?

I think Muniesa did try to clear the ball to be fair but was blocked. I agree though Muniesa, improved as the game went on

I felt the whole defence was out of shape for the first 20 mins and when they scored the 1st it completely threw the team they didn't have a clue how to react, burnley pressed well made us rush our passing which inevitably left us scratching our heads by the 13th minute. After the first 20 we started to get a half decent foot of the game and then dominated 2nd half but to no positive conclusion. The most frustrating thing is we will go Liverpool next week and give a good account of ourselves.

Quite agree. Muniesa and Bardsley were all at sea for the first half. Credit to Muniesa for his effort and always showing for the ball though.
Very disappointed in Bardsley. Most experienced of the lot yet comfortably blended in with the rest of the nonsense.

I thought Bardsley 'did a Moses' today. Shocking on the goals but otherwise one of our better players.
Muniesa isn't a left back and it showed again today.
I wasn't convinced by Geoff either.

I thought Bardsley had one of his better games, second goal aside.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards

He was even more of a venturing fullback caught out today as well. Sad thing is he's the senior to a younger Muniesa...

Moses didn't help Muniesa for the first. Ran away from home when he needed a short ball. Gave him zero option but to just whack it. Still poor from MM though

The above is largely true but a defence is a unit and the injuries forcing changes at CH and LB presented too much of a problem. Even against poor 'Prem' sides you need a solid back four which works as a unit with players having confidence in each other. I think Hughes said that some defenders might be back next week but if injuries/suspensions occur we're back to square one for other games.

Not quite sure why Geoff stopped for their 2nd goal. I can only assume he thought he could play them offside. If he had continued his run he would have stopped the cross. Small margins eh? This, just can't understand why he did that, he should have just got over there and closed him down, terrible defending.

I almost wonder if he got a call from Bego or just straight up stopped. Weird that one.
