They did it because the ref let them get away with it. We'd be the same if allowed. It's got nothing to do with the ref. He's got to stop the game if a player is down holding his head, whether he thinks he's faking it or not.

It was far from a record number of head injuries because there was not one single head injury in the game.
The ref was happy to be conned into stopping play on a regular basis though.

I don't think the referee was fooled for a second, he just wanted to prove that he was not affected by the crowd in a macho way

I think one of the most infuriating things was when they'd kick the ball out into the corners rather than pass it to Bego. I think it's a little harsh to say we didn't deserve anything. They certainly didn't boss the game so I'd say on the balance of play we deserved a draw at least.

As much as I hate Twatkinson, he has a duty of care to stop the game if a head injury is SUSPECTED. Only in hindsight can you see that it was gamesmanship.
OS.

We have done it in the past, but only the small band of us who go away would know that, and what about Moses dive in the first half was that cheating. Never in the Pullis era,and which away games are you referring to?

You are correct OS under the current rules. That does not make it right. So it means that at any time amy player can go down holding their head and play MUST be stopped. A great tactic to have at your disposal. AsI said earlier in the thread the trainer should be allowed on, perhaps with the permission of the fourth official, when a player goes down. I dont see the case against this -the player gets immediate attention if it is serious, play can continue which eliminates any possibility of feigning.

They did it because the ref let them get away with it. We'd be the same if allowed. Correct. Utterly wank gutless refereeing. He booked Heaton for time wasting and the next goal kick was longer than the one he booked him for. Go figure. And every time we got a bit of momentum one of their pansies went down with a game stopping head injury. Twatkinson bought it every time. Cunt.

If we were 2-0 up there wouldn't have been any time wasting. Note to Stoke. STOP PISSING ABOUT

Mandatory five minutes off of the pitch if treated for a head injury to ensure recovery of player, head injuries can have delayed symptoms. 5 minutes unless substituted.

When that twat danny inggs went down in the 2nd half I said it was bullshit straight away when I looked at the replay the ball merely hits the back of his head yet the cheating twat was trying to clain that ryan elbowed him. Digusting low life twat, what a surprise that twatkinson fell for it every time. we were still poor with the ball tho

If a player feigns a head injury play should be stopped, he should be off the pitch for a minimum of say 5 or 10 mins and some sort of proper check to make sure he hasn't got concussion that would stop it, instead off, down, look at play...oh dear...hands to face...stop play, run off then fucking moaning cos they can't get him back on immediately. Oh and as for the poster who said we would use those tactics we never did when we've struggled at away games and boy have we struggled over the years???? and if we start doing it on that scale my season tickets thrown at whoevers in charge, nowt so sure.

Their time wasting was understandable in the circumstances but the constant feigning of head injuries was inexcusable. Eventually a referee will ignore a genuine serious head injury thinking a player is crying wolf, leading to the risk to a player of brain damage or worse. If this situation ever arises will Shaun Dyche (who instructs his players) or Danny Ings (the worst offender yesterday) feel any remorse or responsibility for their actions. Probably not. The PFA should become involved in educating players to the risk of serious head injuries and their responsibilities towards their fellow professionals, which include not using this as a time wasting tactic.
