All BBC's pundits make themselves out to be marvellous when they played. Hartson, Keown and Murphy.

All BBC's pundits make themselves out to be marvellous when they played. Hartson, Keown and Murphy. The thing that makes me laugh, to his credit, Hartson was a good striker. His goal scoring record at Premiership level is very good, so when it comes to him commenting on other strikers, I accept his opinion. It's when he starts preaching morality that i get fucked off. We all know about your past John, you can't change it. Keown on the other hand really wasn't a good defender. He was a donkey. A slow, flat footed cumbersome mongrel who seemed to find walking difficult. Yet, he sits on the BBC pundit couch commenting on defenders far far superior in every way than when he was playing. When he said Shawcross shouldn't get in England because he's 'slow'? Firstly, he's not slow. Secondly, I've seen few defenders slower than Martin Keown. It's almost embarrassing. He loves to comment on his great achievement, being part of the invincibles... He made 10 appearances the last of which came on the last day of the season with just one minute of injury time to go. He was practically carried by the players around him that season. Embarrassment. Both of them.

Light years ahead of most of England's current crop, Ryan one of the few exceptions.

Especially if it wasn't a trench, and was actually a monkey cage. And especially if you weren't in the trench/cage yourself, but you were on the outside, taking photographs and feeding him bananas. And especially if you weren't taking photographs and feeding him bananas, but were poking him with a stick.

Not getting in the England squad today is hardly an indicator that you're not good enough. When compared to Ryan, which of Keowns attributes would you take? Who's comparing him to Ryan? I'd rate Ryan above him in most areas, although maybe Ryan's lacking a little in the nasty, ruthless streak that Keown had plenty of. That said, there's very few defenders I rate higher than Ryan. Keown was a decent defender and his record supports that. He is also a twat and his punditry supports that.

All BBC's pundits make themselves out to be marvellous when they played. Hartson, Keown and Murphy. Hartson only has teeth so that he can lie through them. Keown is still the 'unacceptable face' of football.(with or without the make-up artists trowel) Murphy is the biggest mardarse out of the three of them, still consistently bleating because Liverpool got rid of him and he had to play against that nasty manager Tony Pulis' team a couple of times.

There's only 3 pundits around at the moment who don't even attempt to paint themselves whiter than white: Neville, Keane and Scholes.
I don't think it's coincidence either, I think it's because having a 'nasty' side helped them achieve so much means they couldn't really give a shit.

Exactly, a good footballer can play a bit and battle when they need to. Those who can only play a bit end up at arsenal.
