Big Brother is watching you and carefully scrutinising all of your PRIVATE texts and e-mails to determine whether you have ever made the odd, jokey, throwaway remark that might be construed by the powers that be as sexist or racist. Let us all bow down and pay homage to the mighty god called Political Correctness.

you can bet that most companies DO keep an eye on your texts and emails if you're using company equipment (as McKay was)
let's not forget the fact that some of the racist remarks were directed towards his own playing staff and players they were making bids for. if my boss sent offensive texts about me calling me a "Chink" or a "Homo" on a workmobile he'd get the sack as well
the idea that poor little Malky has been a victim of PC gone mad is ludicrous! he was using company equipment to make properly (not just "PC gone mad" wise) racist remarks. i don't really see how anyone can defend him to be honest. it's his own fault, no-one elses whatsoever.

When I worked, my employer advised all of us that they had no problems about us using the office computer system to read and write private emails providing that doing so did not interfere with our work. But they also made it very clear that it was their computer system and that they reserved the right to audit and read EVERYTHING on the system.
I'd imagine that most empoyers have a similar policy - or if they don't, they should have.
The implications are quite clear, if you object to your employer's IT staff reading your emails, don't open your private emails and don't write any private emails on the office computers. I can't remember any colleagues who had any problem with the policy.
As MMLC above ssuggests, I doubt if any email between two work colleagues which discusses other work colleagues can be considered to be private anyway. But, private or not, if it is on a work computer it is going to be available to be scrutinised by IT staff.

spot on!
it's nothing to do with the stupidity of PC nutcases, it's 100% down to the stupidity of McKay and he knows that full well himself hence him making a public apology.

Actually it wasn't a company phone that is why Cardiff had to get an injunction to check the phone data for evidence of corrupt transfer dealing.
As nothing has been released except a few non PC texts it is safe to assume that no evidence of corruption was found. Fact is Tam is viscous little crook who should be in prison not running a football club.
Whelan's motormouth has been an accident waiting to happen for years and Mackay's texts weren't acceptable but the the most pathetic and disgusting spactacle here, imho, is the FA allowing Vincent Tan and his lawyers to use them to conduct a personal vendetta.
Don't suppose this will happen, but after they've given hefty and justified slaps on the wrist to Mackay and Whelan I would love to see the FA publicly censure Tan for being a malicious/vexatious litigant.
