Reffed suprisingly few of our games since we were promoted to the Premier League.... QPR (a) 2-2 Newcastle (a) 1-5 (2 red cards) Liverpool (a) 0-1 QPR (h) 1-0 Wigan (a) 2-2 Sunderland (h) 0-1 (Huth red card) Fulham (h) 2-0 Man City (a) 0-1 Sunderland (a) 0-2 (red card - forgotten who?) Chelsea (a) 0-2 Chelsea (a) 0-2 Arsenal (h) 3-1 FA Cup Birmingham (h) 0-1 West Ham (h) 2-1 He also sent Delap off, while mysteriously failing to notice Shaun Wright-Phillips's red card offence, the time we beat Man City.

Wasn't it Etherington who kicked Collins? I thought it was Shawcross for two yellows in the same game he failed to give us the Catermole handball/peno. Ethers was at Sunderland but that was a different game when one of ours (Danny Pugh?)handled it off our line. Not sure if Twatto was the ref for that or not. In addition Hughes has got history with him too. From when he was Citeh manager and Twatkinson played about half an hour Fergie time to allow the Shit to score and win the Manchester derby

The cup final is what sticks in my mind when for me he couldn't wait to give them every decision. Forgot about that where Tevez stood in front of Sorro in an offside position and blocked his view of Toure's shot. I know it was the lino really but who cares it was clearly Twatto's fault, they were mic'd up after all. Bastard.

The cup final is what sticks in my mind when for me he couldn't wait to give them every decision. I think that's the over-riding problem with Atkinson. He always looks like he's enjoying himself as he shafts us. Lee Mason or Chris Foy, for example, might shaft Stoke every time, but their incompetence is mainly rooted in unconscious bias. Atkinson is in the Rob Styles camp, revelling in the power he was denied during his lonely childhood, enjoying nothing more than the look of horror on a footballer's face when he gives him a harsh red card, thinking how his life as an unpopular referee might not amount to much, but at least he's managed to make sure a football team and all its fans have a stinker of a weekend. He probably looks at himself in the mirror before a game, and reminds himself he's a tiger.

Dead retro and as such quite humorous rather than the wanker one. Reminds me of the 70's and thinking I was being really naughty as a 13 yr old singing 'bastard' out loud in the company of adults.

He's the kind of dick who if you abuse him will give Burnley everything to prove he won't be swayed...... You're right. It could go one of 2 ways. He could try to even things up for us, after all it's only little old Burnley, he won't mind shafting them. Or he might react the other way to all the dogs abuse he will inevitably get and as you say give them everything to prove how strong he is in the face of adversity. He's a raging dick so I suspect he'll behave as you predict. Hard to believe he's our UEFA/FIFA ref. I was thinking the same. Burnley got their win last week, probably no-one expects them to win at Stoke, so Atkinson can screw them over and redress the balance our way a little for all the shitty decisions he's handed us down the years and no-one bar the Burnley fans will think anything of it. That said, he's such a cunt I wouldn't be surprised to see a Stoke player dismissed. 11 games in and no red cards in the league yet, he'll put that right.

The sceptic could be forgiven for thinking they have given him this game to see the reaction in a low profile game , arsenal , man utd Chelsea to come 2 of which are on tv they want to see the reaction out before risking him here in front of the cameras

Yes the Premier League knew they had a problem with Atkinson refereeing a game at the Brit so they've appointed him to a game against lowly opposition, hoping he can get over it unscathed. They would never put him in charge against big opposition when one of his famous wrong decisions could turn the match. They are hoping that even with his usual errors we will still win and a problem will be solved.

I'll be in early for this one, the refs come near the touchline when they are warming up so abuse will be thrown in his direction.

I thought it was Shawcross? Wasn't it during the same match when he refused to give a penalty after Cattermole's blatant handball on the line? He then compounded that error by sending off Shawcross (or it might have been Wilko) for something trivial by comparison. Yes, it was Styles who sent off Etherington v Sunderland and Atkinson who sent off Shawcross and Huth.

Rob Styles MkII. Atkinson will shit himself and straight bat every decision. After Styles shafted us against Gillingham, next season I am sure he refereed us at the Brit and sent an opposition player off for seemingly rather dubious reasons. hopefully history will repeat itself. If the pundits are to be be believed, .........."it evens itself out " so bring on the steamroller Twatkinson.
