One thing I have noticed since our back room fitness coaches were let go by our present manager is we get out muscled out.Last night Southampton players were quicker to the ball but also seemed to be more switched on. This is all down to fitness, if you are at the top of your physical fitness then your brain is more alert. Maybe that's why it takes 45 min for us to get into a game. Also we are picking a lot of stupid booking for niggling little fouls, players are getting booked for committing a number of fouls in a match this is because we are not fit enough so they are out of position causing them to tackle from the wrong position. We cant keep blaming the refs, the players need to sharpen up.The main problem is also we are conceding a lot of goals from these fouls.

How many goals have we conceded this season after giving a foul away?

'We're not fit enough' Yet we're better in the 2nd half of games usually and there was only one team finishing strongly last night, so you'd assume we're fitter than Southampton, who are currently 2nd in the league

I think people are over analysing things. When you play a dirty, direct game you always look like you are in the game even if you are having an off day and end up losing. When you try and play football you stink the place out when you have an off day - whether you win, lose or draw. It's a fact of football.
I'll be honest and say i've never known such a bad luck run of injuries to key players and also the amount of goals/chance ratio we are conceding. It's ridiculous in the extreme.
It will turn around. It just needs people to sit tight and have a bit of faith.

Remember the good old days under the old fitness coaches when the team was buzzing all over the place, wasn't out-played for long periods of games and always started matches at a blistering pace?
No, me neither.

For my money we were the better side against them in the second half on Saturday, doesn't point to a lack of fitness to me.

We've had other injuries Cameron, Bardsley, Diouf, Arnie. Bad luck isn't even close. Keep the faith

To be fair with odem, whelan, arnie, huth, Moses (a little bit), assaidi, muniesa, Ireland all being out in some games in large capacity it must have a negative knock on effect of the team. They will loose confidence by not having some of these players on the pitch. For instance ryan looks lost at times without huth begovic is not as sure with wilson as he was with huth we have little to no attacking movement down the wing without Moses this puts presure on the midfield to create etc etc etc it all has a knock on effect whether you believe it or not, we have just been extremely unlucky so far simple as that.
