Hughes out wezzer which if west ham turn us over on Saturday will no doubt see the natives becoming restless. I know I'm stupid to ask this but, if pulls was a bloody good manager for 8 1/2 years and Hughes is out performing him results wise, why would any reasonable supporter want Hughes out? Makes little sense [ Why would I need to defend Pulis for 10 years when his record in that time wasn't warranted to defend?. That's the question I've asked wezzer who started this but I got no answer. This supposed football under Hughes is so fcuking pedestrian it's unreal.

This is the bit that I honestly don't get Stafford. If we are back in the game of comparing regimes, when people like myself were complaining about the previous "style" of football and how effective it was, the general response was that it's a results game, and that style and performance was irrelevant. Well if it's a results game, then with 11 points after 9 games we are well on track to our usual target of 40 points. How come style has suddenly become more important than results? It's a massive shift in how some folk evaluate our performances. The difference is I enjoyed the in your face footie that we had under Pulis. Yes it wasn't that easy on the eye but at least it had the crowd behind it a lot of the time. The new style of footie maybe would be ok if we were not so negative. We may have 80% possession in some games but most of it is in our own half and left/right/back passing. It is shit to watch and easy for the oppo to defend against. More importantly the fans don't buy into as in get involved. If he doesn't change it he can pissoff for me. Fair enough mate. Like wezzer says it's all about opinions. Can't say that I'm 100% happy with things, but I'm more happy than I was in the two seasons following the FA cup.

Now that you are unhappy with Hughes the approach is a bit different. Obviously I coukd be wrong though Like wezza said as well, of course it is all about opinions and of course your entitled to yours. What's not an opinion is that we finished higher under Hughes last season than we had in the immediate previous seasons, and we look well on track for a 40 point plus finish again. Calling for the managers head based on that seems OTT.

Last season was great wasn't it.First top half finish in 40 years. Beat Manure, Arsenal and Chelsea. 50 points became the new 40 points. 33% more goals than previous season. This year has been poor. We are only 2 points ahead of our record in 2012-13. However attendances are well up on 2012-13 and to my ageing ears there seems alot more noise both at home matches and (especially) on away trips. We beat the champions away from home. Who knows how much better we could be with a £100M investment.

Thanks magic It's been explained and pointed out on countless occasions but he just doesn't get it.....he's not on his own either He also asked on another thread why we can't be like Southampton ?........we had a manager who spent nearly £120m making us the complete rancid ,turgid opposite of what they are and now we have a manager who is working on a shoestring because the finances have been reigned in but it's all fucking agenda driven as they refuse to see it I can't be arsed constantly ramming that fact home anymore .....It's pathetic

After some of the shite you defended where we barely crossed the halfway line away from home? Or the 'in your face' home defeats at home to Villa and away at Swansea in the run where we won three times after Boxing Day?

Don't hold with this yes but look who we have played so far. Teams are taking points off each other across the division, with the exception of Chelsea and Burnley, 5 points are separating the middle 12 teams, with Southampton and West Ham in the top 4. In my opinion Southampton look a very good side,in both games against them, 2nd half we matched them. If Crouch hadn't had a rush of blood we looked the likely winners in the last game. Fine margins and injuries to key players will define the season imo. Not Hughes' so called tippy tappy or Pullis' he man bollocks football styles.

Yes Mr Pulis made some poor choices and we had some very bad games but the shut in on offer now is constant and the atmosphere reflects that. I haven't know the stands thus quiet since promotion. The only time it get going is when we have another shit ref! I just say what I see and how I see it and it is wank!

As usual you avoid the subject So why then are you calling for the head of a man who took us to our highest premiership finish in his first season, add to that our biggest ever points haul in the premiership and who despite purse strings pulled and injuries to major players he has got us to our second best ever start to a premiership season ? It's superb considering all the above and after just 18 months don't you think ? Pathetic

The biggest concern is the amount of times we trouble the opposition goalkeeper. Actually force him into a save. We are easier on the eye for the most part and have started, in the latter part of last season and the start of this, countering with breath taking pace yet we have as many shots on target in a game as a Pulis side at its most turgid. That is something Hughes has to sort out.

I don't think we're far away from being a very good side but we need to be far more positive in front of the goal. I stood up and applauded NZonzi's goal on Wednesday (and I was alone at work) He is a very good footballer who is capable of doing that far more often, if only he believed so himself. I'm not just getting at him because I think we have too many players that need to back themselves in front of the goal. We also need to get in front of opponents when they are on the edge of our penalty area. We give them far too much room to get shots off and have fallen foul of it far too often already this season. Brilliant finish from Pele but he should never have been allowed the time and space to pick his spot like that.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz No seriously why do you think it is new? Did you never notice what other clubs were doing during the Pulis years? It is clearly your prerogative to prefer the "in your face/shit yourself and stop the other team from playing approach" but did you not notice that other team were trying to do it somewhat differently and every single successful club was most certainly not trying to succeed by destroying the game?

We managed to pull back a two goal deficit against a side that is second in the table through merit. It's the name 'Southampton' that must be offputting to those who can't look at the game logically. They were a bloody good side and well worth their win. Bearing in mind that we're an injury ravaged side, we did great to draw level in the second half, and that included some brilliant stops from Begovic. We lost a fucking cup game against a bloody good side. Some of you need to get over it, but I don't think you will. There are some not so well hidden agendas at work here.

Not taking sides here Mark but, to be fair, both Leicester and Villa set out to "destroy the game" at the Brit this season. Don't get me wrong, they both earned their win (particularly Villa). Leicester had one shot on target all game but 'fair play' to them.

So anyway, why are we so flat at the start if games? Lack of motivational stuff from the manager? Seems he's quite capable of rousing them for second half.

Bojan had another mare and we played the 1st half with ten men.I think bojan should be moved either on the wing or put up front with diouf behind. Bardsley was awful and pieters wanted to play in arnies position. Arnie had 3 players on him most of the time and nobody giving him an option. Cameron never had many options when looking for a forward pass and looked frustrated when having to keep passing back. Nzonzi was really poor until he scored, he never gave the other players any options and walked around most of the half. Diouf was the best player on the pitch, fought for absolutely everything and still looked fresh as a daisy at the end of the match. I think it is fair to blame the manager when the team are not working as a unit or at least trying to.
