Thought he played well tonight and if he had better service would have netted more. Think he needs to be up top then get the right players around him on form, diouf was the plus point from tonight. But too many players around him are off there game they need to find there feet quick its so frustrating with the simple goals we are giving away.

He'll be getting another chance in the next game now, looked decent though.

He is a handful there's no doubt about that. With Crouch missing Saturday (which I think he is) he will start upfront again so it will be another opportunity for him.

I like him he just needs decent service and a period of injury free footy. I'm convinced if played correctly he can be a 15 goal a season man.

He looked better when we played more direct in the second half. First half he wasn't great and I still think he looks clueless with his movement and runs at times.

Doesn't get a lot of service to be fair

A grafter with the ability to score goals when serviced. What's not to like?

He is one that actually shone for 90 minutes and not 45. Leave him up top and give him a run of games.

A grafter with the ability to score goals when serviced. What's not to like? Couldn't agree more. He is a goalscorer, ungainly at times maybe, but I've seen enough now. He has to be our main striker from now on.

First half I thought he looked just a Jerome upgrade (pace but little else), but second half he looked better with more players getting up around him and more balls whipped in to him. He is no lone striker in a 4-5-1 as he cannot hold the ball up well enough, but he has pace and a finisher's instinct it seems - a work in progress, but worth persevering with.

We need to get the service to him and if we do we will have a hell of a player.
Mix it up, feet, chest and head.
Play the balls down the channel more.
And get closer to him so he can lay it off and move.
It was all there tonight and if we implement it better, it will be brilliant.
Shame we haven't got that magical #10 behind him.

Much better through the middle , pace strength and aggression , still raw but get the ball to him early and he can be a handful , piss about with it in midfield for ages and he will struggle

Thought he looked lively and much better through the middle.
Considering the service into was mostly shit, he still managed to have a good game.

I just don't get MH's reasoning, he should be starting up front in every away game.

He has to be the future as our main striker. We need to be weened slowly off the hoofball up to the strikers head because hes not very strong in the air. But play it into feet or throughballs he can chase, it gives us much more options.

I just don't get MH's reasoning, he should be starting up front in every away game. As Jezza says above, he isn't suited to the role of lone striker - he simply can't hold the ball up well enough. If we play him up front then we have to have a player in close support and that may not always be the way we need to set up in away games. At home, I'd be happy to see him up front with another striker supporting him.

If we are going to play diouf then we have to play two upfront. He doesn't get enough service when he is on his up front on his own
