What a fucking joke, another batch of bookings, crouch sent off, they score straight after, we never start playing till after half time, but the bookings are going to start mounting up Beardsley and crouch missing on Saturday, TOTALLY UNDISCIPLINED

That ref never gave us anything, and since when has Beardsley been playing for us?

I prefer to look at the positives of that game.
We pressed them second half, were ultra competitive and dragged the game back in our favour. Crouch was a little too competitive, but can forgive that, in the grander scheme of things.
I want to halves of that on Saturday, please Stoke.

Stupid from crouch after getting the first yellow. Can't blame the ref for that one.

I'm worried about Saturday now though.
No Bardsley or Crouch, we only started playing when we went 4-4-2.
God knows how we will play.

No we gave Southampton 3 goals even if the ref was no good, we should know by now what teams are going to do roll around ect. Time for us to get wise and organised we were all over the place at times can't fault the effort but defending is SHIT!.

No arsed with the Crouch suspension, it'll force us to play Diouf up front where he looked lovely today. Front 3 of Diouf, Moses & Arnie for Saturday is the way forward.

Injuries and suspensions, we're just not getting a chance to find any true balance in the side this season. Another tough one Saturday and now we're having to make at least another two changes, if not three. Just not happening for us this term.

First half awful! Second half much better- after the equaliser I thought we would go on to win it but I find myself talking about referees again! Mason was a complete joke throughout the game, really pisses me off how we get yellow cards for every single foul we concede compared to other teams not getting the same punishment! The media don't help either constantly talking shit

Absolutely shocking from Stoke defensively however it's hard when you are playing the ref and clueless assistants as well.

Half of them want a fucking strip tearing out of them at the moment. The way we're handing out goals is just appalling. Crouch needs a good bollocking for that; doesn't matter how soft the first one is the second was just total stupidity.

If we keep concentrating on referees and how the world is against us we will end up in the Championship. Need to face up to some fairly glaring faults in our performances and sort them out - there has been enough time now.

Crouch needs a good bollocking for that; doesn't matter how soft the first one is the second was just total stupidity. We should have been at least 4-0 down by half time - 2 great saves from Bego to keep us in the game Why do we continue to make such poor starts and wait until we are losing and / or the 2nd half to get fired up? It's so frustrating, because with 11 v 11 we had a great chance to win this game against a very very good team

It's not the bookings that are punishing us so much as the defending. We needed a quality centreback bringing in in the Summer but it didn't happen...we are paying for it now. There's no steel in that defence at the moment and there is no way sides can come back from going behind all the time. I am not interested in 'good games' where we lose by the odd goal in five. The only good games Stoke are involved in are those that we win(or get a decent draw)...1 - 0, bus well and truely parked and 3 points, please.
I am losing faith with Hughes...it's hardly reactionary, it's been all season...we're November on Saturday and still no rhythm or consistency and time is starting to run out. That we are all going along the lines of how tough it's going to be against West Ham on Saturday shows how far 1.) we regressed and 2.) how far Sam's side has come on after quality signings. We can't keep talking about sides being tough to beat...they all are but there's levels and we( and I mean all of us) look at teams we expect to beat at home...so far we've fucked up against two of them and now another one is looming that may well take all three points and then what...'it's the ref's fault, the injuries, any excuse but actually Hughes has got it wrong...'? Before you know it, we are fighting a battle amongst the relegation teams with nothing to fight with. It has to change very, very soon.
No doubt this post will get pulled apart but regardless of it being our second strongest start to our more recent seasons in the top flight and that Hughes is stronger in the second half of a season we've only played one of the so called elite sides yet we've struggled like hell against lower sides - the ones we need to cash in on and, yes, Soton are a lower side/comparable side who I would consider important to get something off yet nothing on Saturday and, for me, a demoralising loss tonight ahead of what could be a definitive game against West Ham.
Come on Hughes, come on Stoke, FFS sort it!

If this is a moaning thread, i'm going to have a go! I've only just got home so i don't know if this has been covered elsewhere and maybe it's just me but Erik Pieters was absolutely embarrassingly awful tonight. First half especially, he played like a guy who didn't want to be there and had been on the booze. I like him in general but tonight was a bloody nightmare and he gives away needless free-kicks all the time and i mean really needless free-kicks. There, that doesn't feel better!

No arsed with the Crouch suspension, it'll force us to play Diouf up front where he looked lovely today. Front 3 of Diouf, Moses & Arnie for Saturday is the way forward. Completely agree with this. When Crouch got sent off I thought exactly the same. I think we need to define our style without him in the team. He slows things down without offering any punch up front. I think he would score more as an impact player. At the moment Stoke are not scoring enough to counteract our terrible defending. Diouf, Moses up front, bring on Saturday.

Stop blaming the refs, we've regressed since last year and the blame lies with the manager. Last season he was working with mainly the players he was left with, but this is his squad now. The discipline in the team is appalling, as is the defending. And why do the team only start playing when a goal down? It's the manager's role to motivate.
Get it sorted, Mark.
