It wasn't garbage, we were at the races but it's just not quite working still. Second half was better, our containment tactics weren't bad but we didn't create the chances, or have the shooting boots to compensate.
It's November, Soton are good but not that good, I'm getting impatient tbh - if a manager's job is to get the best out of his team, right now that's not really happening and I'm badly wanting more clues that it will very soon.

I thought the set-up to start the match was terrible, not the players but the formation.
Subs were decent and we improved in the second half.

Shit! God knows what goes on in training. Last week he redeemed himself with the 2nd half and subs. Today was back to reality with a thump. Not good enough. If he tries to play the 2nd team on wed then I will be back to the hughes out stance I'm afraid. We have been very poor for most of the season so far and it has to change! 3

5 - we're competitive but don't seem to be learning anything in an attacking sense. The one win away in the league we have had this season was with a speedster up top and catch them on the break, but we haven't played it since

Of the 60-70 minutes I watched it just seemed like we were overawed in the first half. We let them have their way with us and they could and should have been at least 2-0 up in the first half an hour. I don't really know what's going on, it's a different performance every week there's no consistency and at times I don't think it's the training or tactics that's the problem, the mentality of the players seems to be lacking in so many matches.

Feel a bit for MH clearly he came relatively cheap as damaged good and knew the score , but he Has literally had no Money while in his time Swansea Southampton west ham , all simile teams on his arrival have invested in quality players
That policy has to tell sometime , and lady luck has desired hIm too with injuries to his most consistent players if not his most talented when they feel like it .
I actually think supported he could make us a top team team Om a regular basis but if he forced to manage in the bargain basement no one can defy gravity and that's effectively what he is being asked to do
Opinions hey opposite to stafford for me all the fringe players would start wed sidwell , assadi , Huth ,Sorensen , bojan , shenton , palacios , assadi, muniesa, ,

I put this one on mr hughes. Last weeks superb lineup and subs to this weeks horrid formation and terrible selections in that formation. He got it backwards, we needed pace early then tact later. Hes as inconsistent as the lads shots on goal tally at the moment. It's as if he was in the mindset we couldn't match them. The Second half was too little to late. 5.

6*
Considering Southampton won 8-0 at home the previous week I think Hughes was right to be cautious, that said, we struggled to get out of our own half early on and needed the threat of breaking with pace.
Second half was much better but if we're honest it could've been 3 or 4 by half time, we were lucky to get away with 1-0 against a decent side.

8, did everything right, starting line up etc, got let down by the players. Wilson's man marking sure let us down again but hey they manager keeps selecting him. No problem there. The Manager chose to start Walters over Diouf. The only player to get a real chance late. So it's all Wilson's and Walter's fault eh? So un boskamps.

We played a team bang on form. The media (and many a Stoke fan) put us down for a thrashing today.
Given that we did OK. We weren't brilliant first half, but second we controlled the game without creating a clear-cut chance.
He picked a line-up that made complete sense given injuries and performances from Sunday.
He then reacted and changed the games. Second half the Saint's fans were shitting it.
Do people expect us to turn up to a decent side who are on top form and just boss it? FFS, we've had years of just turning up and hoping for a miracle.
7 for me.

We're picking people on form these days, Wilson had one of his best games against Swansea and Walters scored the winner and Cameron played well when he came on, while Diouf had a shocker. The midfield had an awful game, easily over run, the front men created and offered nothing, he played the right people, too many had a poor game.

We played a team in form and we know we are better than that. We need to start Huth from Now on.
I'd give him. 6.5
Must do better.
Come on Mark Come on Stoke.
Two home wins this week will be very welcome.

*nowt from me their players closed us down in three's - ours hid & didn't make themselves available. What do the coaching staff do during the week? (Happened to SJW several times, surrounded by three of theirs & none of ours free or making a run - I'm assuming we did have 11 'players' on?) if we concede (& at Soton that's likely) we need a plan B & tarting about in our back third isn't the answer. If you play Crouch you gotta have someone close to help him - he's not gonna lead the line; needs someone close to link up with. Our full backs too often exposed in one on one's. No drive or support from midfield. No meaningful link up play or pressure. So many unforced errors; lack of belief; lack of confidence. Actually, could say this from most of the matches this season ....

Away from home we are a counter attacking team and yet he persists with our slowest two players up front away from home which allows the opposition to double up on our only pacey player. We defended deep but with our only outlet marked out of the game we resorted to lumping it towards the equally well marked Crouch. The starting eleven was slow and unbalanced with little goal threat. 5
