Stoke will get the 3 points next week, no problem. It's easy to 'get up' playing against Man City at home. Coming to stoke is a completely different story. Won't be able to cope with what we have going forward. I think West Ham will finish about 13/14th- about 4/6 places below stokeA very bold prediction. £20 bet to The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research says we won't. There's not enough teams in the league for that to happen.

Sakho missing is a real boost for Stoke. As I said in the other thread, nothing has been confirmed, so don't start popping the champagne corks just yet. You never know, you might have Andy Carroll to contend with instead

A more positive approach second half yesterday at Saints saw Stoke on top for a good spell but we're struggling to create/convert.
We need to go at West Ham from the first whistle and keep them on the back foot.
Time for certain players to step up and fulfil their promise...

Welcome back Irons fans. You getting fikin vertigo or what!? Always respected you lot, proper fans, unlike some of your Southern cousins who shall not be named. ( One sounds like 'arse and all' however) Love what Sam is doing for you, always rated him too. Hope things go for you and you finish well. We're at the crossroads here, trying to work in new front men and bring in a degree of quality squad rotation. The result at the moment is that we're not scoring,(i think sometimes we forget that we're trying to phase in 3 new forwards),every game is a grind and we have lost our home form. Odemthingy is out for the season and it shows. We miss his flair and creativity. Long term, he's 34 next season, i'm not even sure he'll make it back to Premiership level after having serious knee surgery. Fingers crossed for the lad though, he's mint. Crouch is 34 too in January. So sooner or later we're going to have to spend significantly to replace these two, something we didnt do last summer. Cant call it for NOv. 1st. If we click, it will be a cracking game.

If we are going to get the 3 points next week we need to boost our energy levels. Our stars seem to be misfits at the moment whereas West Ham have fired from the off. Fair do's but this will be a tough one

Every home league game this season we've started off like we've just got out of bed. I don't like that, i don't like that a lot. So if we're awake on Saturday then that'll be an improvement.

Hello you lot. It's been a while since I popped in here, so I thought I would come and say hello and ask your opinions on the game next week. Cheers, EH. Home win 2-1. Give it a month or so and Fat Sam will be the enemy again mate.

Oh, an it's been confirmed Sakho is out, so it looks like you'll be facing Sir Carlton of Cole or Mr Nolan.

No home draw yet. West Ham have impressed everyone and Stoke haven't sparked yet. Score draw?

Well I hope we stuff em. I dont like it when fans boo their team but to do it when winning is crazy, and what is this west ham way bollocks anyway
But it will be a hard game as you are getting the results at the moment and we are a bit crap. I hope this can be a bit of a turning point for us

I dont see an upset here. They are a solid team and good run, and I dont see how we are going to change what we do to win.
Worried that Hughes doesnt seem too worried at the moment.

West Ham are on a roll at the moment, third in the Current Form League, whilst our form is far from impressive. But just when you expect something off Stoke, the opposite happens. I expect us to lose to West Ham, which means we will win.

Like most (every) game this could go one of three ways! I've given up trying to predict any Stoke results but I prefer games against the more feared teams because the crowd and players alike seem more sharp/ focused / determined to win without the pressure of expectancy.
Hopefully West Ham will have the expectancy factor weighing them down and this could play into our hands. I hope!

What we really need is some form of injustice to occur (real or imagined) to get the crowd going. The greater the (perceived) injustice the greater the effect. Perhaps somebody could fly a drone over The Brit with a picture of Robin van der Laan's face on it...or possibly worse..Russell Brand.

After having the same opinion as you before he played for us and since watching him week in and week out, one thing that can't be levelled at Nolan is him being a cheat and a thug. Can be a bit of a gobby shite to the ref I grant you, but he's been the best skipper we have had in years. He's one of those players where if he doesn't play for you he is a cu*t, but on your side, he's actually alright.

I'd like Nolan in the Stoke team because he is a thug, teams always need that kind of player now and then, I can understand why you'd stick up for him but he's definitely a dirty bastard.
