Poor again today I thought. Yet again too slow in possession, gave the ball away, never ever looked like creating anything. I just don't see what he is offering us at the moment and we looked totally bereft of ideas in midfield today. Did we have a shot?
Disappointing.

I think our entire midfield looked bad today, and would go out on a limb and say Steven looked the best of a bad bunch today.

Just not good enough at the moment, I would stick him on the bench for now.

His ability to kill forward momentum is second to none. What is he scared of? There were times today he had plenty of options but backwards it went.

He was awful today. Passed back most of the time and when he passed forward hit was aimless

I assume this is a joke? I've defended N'Zonzi countless times when he has probably not played so well, but today he was in the bottom 3 or 4 players on the pitch for us. We were seriously poor today and N'Zonzi was absolutely junk. Sorry to burst your bubble.

He held the ball well as always our zonz but his starting positioning was horrid first half. Second half he was miles better!

LOL, he's been terrible this season. Too slow in possession and always passes sideways or backwards.

I just marvel at some of the utter shyte you read on this board, especially after we lose a game
Nzonzi did no better, or worse than anybody else
Collectively, we did not offer enough to threaten an in form team - so we lost - its that simple
and they weren't 'all awful' either - another equally stupid bloody comment

It amazes me how some people think he's the worst on the pitch and others think he's the best. For me today, he had a mare along with a number of other players.

It's the standard "let's all moan at N'Zonzi" thread.
Did anyone have a decent game today? Just a poor all round performance.
Crouch & Walters in the same team does not work. Especially away from home. The lack of pace & movement in the attacking areas really does make it hard.

I'm not quite sure what people want from a midfielder. I'd like a midfielder of his type to score a few goals (or even be able to shoot), tackle, set up chances and pass the ball forward. He does none of these things. And saying that he holds the ball well is the thing that's holding us back so often in games.

Nzonzi was more sideways and backwards than most matches. The opponent was better than most aswell. He was the biggest letdown for us, he was so far forward first half Adam was next to Geoff. Second half he was in the hole and we were better. He had it a few times going forward and had 3 or 4 running infront of him and cocked up the counters but nobody could say he was the worst today after adams crap performance of course.

He certainly wasnt creative today in passing or movement until the 70th minute. Adam is an impact sub now as is salters hopefully todays first half put that to rest.

We played 4-3-3 in the first half and 4-4-2 in the second. We didn't play with a player in the 'hole' at all.

Hasn't had a great game but we can't bench him as there is no alternative. He wasted our one opportunity to break past Southampton , turning the ball back with four players breaking.
