Diouf was poor but he's a much better attacking option than Walters. Walters is best used off the bench.

I think it's a bit harsh to criticise Hughes here.
I don't think anybody would argue with Cameron coming in for Whelan, so that just leaves Walters in for Diouf.
I think if Diouf was 100% fit then there's no doubt he would start but he quite clearly isn't and none of us know by how much.
For all we know he might have been looking unlikely to even make the bench and has just made it at the last minute.
Only the people down at the training ground know how fit he actually is.

i think thats a sensible line up,try to hold them and frustrate them first half.then have the options to go more attacking second half.dont forget hughes has to think that we meet them again at home in the cup on wednesday!

Diouf is a better option when we're away,we'll be counter attacking no doubt so we need his pace.If he's not fit he shouldn't be on the bench

They're going to have Bertrand and Clyne bombing forward for most of the game no doubt. If Diouf isn't 100% there's a real risk we'd get our trousers pulled down on the right side of the pitch. Hopefully Moses can make some headway down the other side if they're leaving space at the back.

It's a balancing act - you'd never get 100% match fit if you didn't get at least some game time.

I find it strange that Muniesa isnt on the bench. If Bardsley cant make it the whole 90 I guess we move Geoff over and bring in Sidwell.

Rightly lost his place because he was nonexistent in the last game. Because he had zero service. He had the ball to him enough times, buggered it up every time, he's also mean't to be creating the service.

Rightly lost his place because he was nonexistent in the last game. Diouf needs games to get his fitness back. He can get it from the bench then, we can't afford to carry players in any game, Hughes is doing it right, have a good game, keep your place, if not don't be expecting to play in the next.

Ihave never been a big walters fan, but on last weekends cotribution in my eyes he deserves a start.Hughes has proved that if somene steps in for someone and puts in a strong performance they get the next start, which is how it should be!

The only thing i'd do is bring Huth in but he clearly isn't fully fit.

A bit puzzling when you look at the bench Cameron in for Whelan and Walters in for Doiuf (whom I'm assuming isn't fit). What would you have done differently mate? Interesting that Ireland is nowhere to be seen but he was awful last week. Pace on the counter is what we're about mate. Walters robs us of that.
