More recently I wonder what price you would put on a fit Ricardo fuller! The man was a genius when fit and as good as suarez on his day

With Gazza though his unpredictable behaviour and untrustwothiness would knock millons off his value.

If managers had a transfer market I reckon Pulis would be in the 10's of millions. Never mind top half finishes and cup run bollocks. We all know the Premiership is where the money is and if you are bottom at Christmas there is no one else I'd want to lead us to safety

On his day, Ric was as good as suarez yes I firmly believe that. He ran the channels as good, he could easily beat 2/3 men when backed in a corner and create his own goals. All that in a average side!

Didn't mean touch a nerve Bertie it was just my opinion. Regarding 35 goals a season consistently I wasn't aware Suarez achieved that. But like I said, a fully fit fuller at his peak! That's where I believe on his day he was as good as Suarez. If that makes me mad then I'm happy with that

If Andy Carroll cost £35m, how much would John Ritchie cost,After all he was around the 20 odd goals a season every season in the top flight?

Putting Ric aside for a minute, I genuinely wonder how much Sir Stan would be worth now? Stan invented dribbling in its modern form. He was an innovator, not a impersonator. The only innovator in today's game in all honesty is Ronaldo. He cost 80 million.

Ric could score some fantastic goals, but the trouble was, he wasn't a 20 + goals a season player was he?

Ric could score some fantastic goals, but the trouble was, he wasn't a 20 + goals a season player was he? No striker in a Pulis side was. Ric is my absolute Stoke hero and I'll defend him til the end of time on here against those who mystifyingly dismiss him and his value to the side as overrated. But he wasn't as good as Suarez. I don't even know if he'd have had the impact elsewhere that he had here, where he was the undisputed main man and had so many allowances made for him. But who cares? He did it for us and I firmly believe we wouldn't be here without him.

Would Gazza even break through these days?
Would he be another victim of the "get rich quick" culture?
