......or Dave v The European Union to be more precise.
Who will win ?
Dave says " I'm not paying the £ 1.7 million by the 1st December "
Nige says " he has no choice , we signed up to the union 40 years ago so it's a simple In or Out decision "
I wonder if the lady is not for turning .?
Stand by your beds......

To be fair Nige can see loads of votes to be had by saying this with more bye-elections on the way and more UKIP gain possibilities. Cameron says the demand is illegal and if he flatly refuses to pay, which seems likely, you have to question the EU motives. Are they trying to prise UK out of the EU? Because this demand falls right into UKIP laps and threatens to make the EU referendum a one way outcome. Or maybe EU are trying to force an expulsion before the possibility of massive UKIP gains in next years election or a vote to remove us from EU if Cameron gets another stint which seems more likely given Labours current standing in the poles. The next few weeks are going to be interesting.

Why don't the E.U.let us keep the money, to pay for all the immigrants that are coming in, due to their policies!

Or maybe EU are trying to force an expulsion before the possibility of massive UKIP gains in next years election or a vote to remove us from EU if Cameron gets another stint which seems more likely given Labours current standing in the poles. The next few weeks are going to be interesting. I suspect that Nigel is simply quoting the rulebook as agreed by all member states. I doubt if there's many people out there who aren't aware of what Nige stands for and therefore most people's minds will already be made up as to who they will be voting for. I see this tub thumping theatrical display from Cameron as someone who is desperate to recoup some of the votes the Tories have already lost to UKIP and pull the proverbial rug from under their feet. I think you must dispel this notion that the EU are trying to force our expulsion purely on the grounds that they are simply following the agreed rules. Cameron's hand has to some extent already been forced on this issue by his previous comments on attempting to renegotiate our position in Europe and he has merely took the opportunity to gain support from the likes of Greece and Italy who have also been asked to fork out more cash and given the strength of their respective economies are equally annoyed by this announcement. Cameron's best chance of success is therefore to force the issue and gain support from these two other countries in the vain hope that he can drum up further support elsewhere .i suppose you could use the analogy that the best form of defence is to attack. Given the last set of trade figures showing a much reduced rate of growth in the economy , then Daves room for manouevre is diminishing rapidly and our popularity in Europe can be gauged to something akin to Jimmy Savile working in a children's nursery. Cameron's only get out clause is if he eventually pays up at a later date , but if he does that then his credibility on home soil will inevitably be seen as a mortal blow for his election prospects. In short he's up the creek without a paddle because if he does win the next election he will have to honour his pledge for holding a referendum . This in itself could split not only his party , but also the country as a whole.

Stand by your beds...... I'm sure your aware mate, but it should read BILLION and not million. Only the EU could come back with a demand for such a massive amount of money for payment within weeks. The sooner we opt out the better. Remember we import more from them, than we export to them.

Yes my mistake , but I don't for one minute believe that Cameron wasn't expecting this . He would have known about this for some time . He has merely grasped the opportunity along with Italy and Greece's 'tax demand to exploit the situation for all its worth. Surely all political parties in this country need to sit around a table and discuss in precise factual terms the financial implications as to our membership in Europe and to decide whether or not it is in our best interests . It is a decision that should not be guessed at or contested. It should be done in a mathematical and scientific way that produces a definitive yes or no answer. If political parties cannot agree on this then what chance has the British public got of getting it right in a referendum. Complete and utter madness.!

It says on the BBC web site that part of the reason the UK owes the extra money is that for the first time we have bundled prostitution and the black market in to our GDP numbers which are the ones the EU use to calculate our payment.
So anyone who has had an encounter with a lady (or man) of the night in the last 12 months is at least partly to blame.
My guess is that once the accountants get hold of this for the review Dave is demanding our payment will go down a little and we will pay it a little later but in essence pay it we will.

My guess is that once the accountants get hold of this for the review Dave is demanding our payment will go down a little and we will pay it a little later but in essence pay it we will. I think these 'extra' payments go back to 2002 so it's 'only' 200M-ish EURO a year. The bad news is that this figure is 'provisional' and could go up! For the life of me I can't think how illegal drugs and prostitution can be included in the GDP. "...an aggregate measure of production equal to the sum of the gross values added of all resident institutional units engaged in production, plus any taxes, and minus any subsidies, on products not included in the value of their outputs." What taxes?? What subsidies?? Who and how were these figures calculated. Luckily The Telegraph has produced an explanation including the correlation between sex, drugs and hairdressers. Which answers a few burning questions. Personally I think this country is going to the dogs. I was only saying the same to Stacy at the sauna the other night while she wasn't printing out my VAT receipt.

Get out and others will follow. They wont like the share we pay being loaded on them so they will follow. Then the whole soviet style dictatorship will go down the shitter where it belongs.
