I only watched the 2nd half but Shaw looked decent, especially going forward - he was one of the few sparks in their team. It's the two centre backs that cost Utd for that second goal, Jones charging out of defence and not getting the ball, Rojo losing track of the striker who found space due to Jones.
I think he'll be a decent left back for England, I'm not convinced Baines is up to the job so it's left to Gibbs or Shaw, maybe Gibbs at this point due to his experience but there's not a great deal of competition.

I think he could turn into a very good player. However, apparent good'uns can easily drift to mediocrity. £30m or whatever it was seems crazy though.
