Exactly the type of club he'd be interested in? D'ya think so? Foreign owners, no money and at the wrong end of the Championship? His stock is much higher than that right now and he knows it.

Exactly the type of club he'd be interested in? A club at the bottom of the championship, with no money to spend. I would imagine that's exactly the type of club he wouldn't look at these days.

Can't help feeling a bit sorry for Lee Clark considering the amount of shit he's had to deal with at Brum but, to be fair to the owners, they have kept faith with him through some pretty dire times and I guess their fans will be hoping the change of manager aids their fortunes. Can't have been an easy club to manage this past 18 months or so.

Ditto You mean exactly like we were when he took over? The only way is up at Brum, big(ish) club fallen on hard times, perfect for the Pulis rescue act. QPR is only going one way (down) and the whole club looks like a shambles from the outside.

Do you honestly think he's any intention of going back there when he KNOWS there will be Premier League clubs interested in his proven ability to keep teams in the top division? He (reportedly) held out for £2 million a year from Palace and they eventually gave in to him because they were desperate. To add to his Stoke credentials, he then kept them up when no-one gave him a prayer. His stock has never been higher and he won't cast the slightest glance in Birmingham City's direction (nor could they afford his services).

Brum have no money & won't have until the shareholders lower their demands for a takeover & someone else comes in. They escaped relegation last season on the last day - they may not be so lucky this year.

This won't be anywhere on TP's radar. He's the A Team for struggling PL clubs.

To be fair, the Brum are in a shit state. No money now that Yeung has gone, one of the smallest budgets in the championship, a squad comprised of kiddies, reserves and cast offs from champ/league one clubs. Plus, they have only won once at St. Andrews in the last year. Clark is a good manager, he went 40 odd games unbeaten when he was Huddersfield manager, but managing that lot is going to be a no-win situation and I cant see Pulis wanting to take over there, especially with no transfer kitty for him to spend on clapped out centre-halfs and half-arsed, if classy, midfielders.

QPR is only going one way (down) and the whole club looks like a shambles from the outside. Don't recall Mr Coates being in chokey at the time. No decent manager in their right mind will touch Brum with a barge pole until their ownership and finances are sorted. It is a job for a young enthusiastic newcomer or a desperate old-timer looking for one last chance. Things are probably going to get a lot worse before they get better there. For a club that have only won 1 home game in 12 months, the feeling today in my office was geberally one of sympathy and "what else could he have done"?

Whoever it will be, their recruitment strategy will have to be combining young "hungry" players with free-transfer, and with experience and shrewd exploitation of the loan market. That rules out a lot of the big spenders...

I reckon it will be a race between the Tyne & Weir clubs to see who can get closest to January before axing their current manager and dropping a huge wedge and a 5 year contract on Tone.

Apart from being a club with potential beyond their position, the situation at Brum is nothing like the situation at Stoke when Pulis arrived. Two questions occur to me. 1.Who do they think they can attract that is better than Clark? 2.Since nobody knows who is in charge, who has actually sacked him?
