Is the fact that they did not even analyse our winning goal, and the slick movement that created it.
It really is inexcusable!

Totally agree. the analyses wasn't even detailed over the penalties......and for me they were both penalties. All 3 presenters should be held responsible for very poor comments towards Stoke and our players.........especially Hartson!! We won fair and squareand Match of the Day is shit.

I swear to god had Moses being wearing a Chelsea or Liverpool shirt he would have every right to go down if the defender grabs a handful of shirt...stick him in the red and white of the potters and he is the dirtiest cheating fuck in the game today... Well fuck em we know the agenda always have always will. We will hopefully stick around for a good many years to keep pissing em all off

Agreed, Banbury. It was a sorry attempt at analysing the match. Complain on the thread earlier. I already have.

Some of you lot are still obsessed about the Ramsey broken leg incident...Who else goes on about it in football? I'm a neutral on this board but the only time i ever hear any reference to that challenge is on here.

Added time.
"Added time was introduced because of an incident which happened in 1891 during a match between Stoke and Aston Villa. Trailing 1–0 and with just two minutes remaining, Stoke were awarded a penalty. Villa's goalkeeper kicked the ball out of the ground, and by the time the ball had been recovered, the 90 minutes had elapsed and the game was over."
Cunts!

Then you don't read any papers or watch any sports programs or listen to arsenal supporters when we are due to play them do you.

We also shout too loud at refs so they give us all the decisions.

I suggest that in the week building up to 6th December that you go online and read the Arsenal board and the Southern based Journos rags. You will be amazed, then come back and be neutral.

Surely the problem is that Stoke have established a "brand image" since getting into the Premier League and it is going to take a lot longer than 1 season playing Mark Hughes style and achieving 9th place before that image is shaken off, particularly by those who don't want to see any change, because it suits them for Stoke to be the "villains", e.g. Southampton fans' views.
The solution on the field is for MH to keep doing what he is doing in terms of playing style, reduce the bookings, and achieve more success with a top ten place and good cup runs. Off the field the club have been active with youth development, social awareness schemes etc., free transport, etc but most of this activity will only impact on the local society. I also think the Stoke PR department has a job to do to improve the image of the club on the national and world scene.
It will take considerable time to change the image but having successfully pursued a strategy to establish Stoke in the top flight, I'm confident PC and the Board will implement a strategy to establish Stoke as a quality organization in all aspects of its activities. We have to be patient, Rome wasn't built in a day.
Regarding MOTD. As with all media they deem it most important to pander to the largest sector of football fans and prioritise coverage of the nations favourite teams, sidelining smaller and so-called unfashionable clubs. But as last Saturday demonstrated goals count most towards entertainment and Southampton were the programme's star team. So it is possible for Stoke to figure more on MOTD if they scored a lot more goals.

Why rubbish Geoff? Our victory against Citeh last month raised our profile (football) worldwide in a positive way. There was no acknowledgement of the fine build up and finish for SJW's winner against Swansea because the media focussed on the penalties. (If you do not believe me, read the streams on here since MOTD 2 was screened).

We go from a no hope Championship side to a solid PL side and Mr Coke thinks we need to appease pundits on motd and the BBC, or am I misunderstanding what Mr Coke means?

We go from a no hope Championship side to a solid PL side and Mr Coke thinks we need to appease pundits on motd and the BBC, or am I misunderstanding what Mr Coke means? I'm trying to make two separate points: 1) Stoke's succeeded in establishing itself in the Premier by playing "route 1", physical football, exploiting set pieces successfully, defending soundly, and creating an intimidating atmosphere at the Brit. Whether that was sustainable is a matter of opinion as it was becoming less successful and fans were showing dissatisfaction. It certainly gave Stoke a brand image that other club fans loved to hate and didn't win friends in the media. I accept that some Stokies like that and some other club fans actually respected Stoke's style. The club owners decided it was time to change and start to play more attractive football whilst still being successful. That transition, we know was achieved last season with the highest Premier league place achieved and more goals. But the change in the image of the team has not sunk in with lots of other club fans primary because it takes a long time to change perceptions and there are still features that paint Stoke as the "bad boys" such as the discipline record. Given time I'm sure that image will change, but there is more to be done to change the image than what occurs on the field. This is a long evolutionary process and some people's views will never be changed no matter what the evidence is. 2) MOTD is a programme driven by entertaining the public and implements a pollcy of focussing on the most popular clubs. It will therefore favour the "big 6" most popular clubs and teams near the top of the league. But above all they will give top billing to "top of the table matches" and those matches with the most goals and excitement. For Stoke to feature more on MOTD the simple solution is score (and concede?) lots of goals, a more difficult solution is to be a top of the table side, and the most difficult is to be one of the nations favourite teams. It is an unfortunate feature of the media that they would rather discuss incidents such as fouls, managers' outbursts, and refereeing decisions rather than quality play. They presumably do that because that is what their opinion surveys tell them that is what the public wants.
