I've got to admit he doesn't get on my bench and I thought he was anonymous till he scored, BUT
HE DID WHAT MATTERS MOST AND PUT THE BALL IN THE NET
Thanks Jon from one grateful fan

He always does exactly what he's told. He'll never be a fan favourite, but managers must love him.

I think he's better option on the right than diouf, who's movement seemed clueless today.

What an extremely strange post What's the issue? I don't rate him as a Premier league player and he wouldn't be a first choice or bench player for me. But I have to admit he did great today and won us the match with a brilliant header from a great cross. So I'm very grateful to the man. OK?

The end bit of the post and you being greatful isn't the odd bit mate, it seems like a backhanded compliment, you are saying well done through gritted teeth and have had to squeeze negativity into the post somehow. He isn't in my first choice 11 either but I dont pick the team and no negativity today, he came in and changed the game

Does it bring SJW level with Crouch as our leading Prem scorer?
I see whether people think he is a "Premier League player" or not as a complete irrelevance, plainly he is since he gets the job done.

The abuse of Jon Walters is fucking disgraceful.

I can't agree that he was anonymous until he scored. Although technically not top drawer he has a good football brain and has the ability to be in the right place at the right time. We looked far more likely to score after he and Cameron came on the pitch yesterday. Both of them upped the tempo - Cameron transformed midfield and Walters supported Crouch and always looked a goal threat.
I wouldn't start him too often but he'd be on the bench in every game he didn't start if I were picking the side.

There is a certain irony in that we took control of the game and scored the winner with a team that looked a lot like the one last season. In fact, there was only Bardsley on who was different to a usual first eleven from 2013.

He puts himself about like a Duracell Bunny - especially when he comes on late in the game. Our attacking shape looked far better when he came on. There were a couple of occasions when players could/should have passed to him but didn't - probably down to the fact that they hadn't come to terms with the change of personnel on the right.

The abuse of Jon Walters is fucking disgraceful. I think some peoples idea of what constitutes abuse is similarly disgraceful

He beat a defender out on the right and put in the best cross of the entire game.....one that we should have scored from.

Said at the game after about 60 minutes that we needed Walters on in place of Diouf, because Walters would provide that passion and fire that we've just seemed to lack recently. My old man and a few people around laughed at me.
Karma.

I've always said: play him up front and he will score goals.
