Does Tom Hardy play a good part in or just a bit part player? Paddy Considine is a top actor.

I've read that Paddy Considine is in series 3 and he's a right horrible bastard in it.

I gave up after the first series because it was a bit too much like Shameless doing a period drama spoof. The sets are good but I think the story and writing leaves a lot to be desired.
Somebody could make a really good series about a Brummie gang with that set and Cillian Murphy. I'm just not interested in the cartoon character police villains or the Shameless-esque stories about a pregnant sister stopping a big rival gang shoot-out with a Shameless-esque speech about love and family.
Very average series.

Just finished the first series and it was enjoyable enough though the sister Ada interrupting the shootout was pure cringeworthy and nearly ruined the whole thing for me.
The opening soundtrack is incredible, up there with Hannibal and True Detective Season 1.

One of the few programmes I watch on the BBC and i shall be tuning in to watch series 3. Also started watching Penny dreadful on plex, got really into it and would say that's worth a viewing. Seen it advertised on sky for the new series but can't recall which channel.. sky Atlantic maybe?

What a banging start to Series 3. "No £@#&!ng fighting at my wedding" Way away from any historical truth now. Just some blue nose writer rewriting history, but great, non the less. I can see us all in thisXx

Watching this for the first time at the moment. Absolutely mint so far. I started watching this relatively recently and was hooked immediately. Some great characters (Tommy, Arthur, Alfie, Polly etc etc ) and great acting. I've managed to see series 1 onwards on i-player and can't get enough of it. It's just a shame each series is so short and as series 4 has only just finished there will be a long wait till series 5 is aired.

I'm very late to this, mate I worked with a while back nagged me to watch it and I've just got around to it,
I think it's great, started watching the box set on the iplayer over the weekend and was quickly hooked, ideal for this shit weather we've been having.

Yeah I love it - I'd heard about it but never bothered to watch it, and I didn't actually watch any of it till the start of series 3 but then I watched the first 2 series on i-player and then watched from series 3 onwards after that. Some great characters ! (I did a catch up of all 4 series on i-player recently).

Can't wait, series 3 was the weakest so far with all that Russian secret agent stuff, but series 4 was back on form with Adrien Brody and the NY mafia.

I'm watching series 3, gutted Grace is out of it I don't think it's quite as good as the other 2 series either. What's really pissing me off is having to turn the volume up and down all the bloody time! The music is really loud and the dialogue quite low sometimes, don't know if it was like that when it was live on the tele box? Very well done all the same, must have cost a fortune.

I enjoyed it, obviously just setting the scene for the rest of the series but it was great to have it back......
