Had 46 touches of the ball compared to Rivieres 11.!! The big man is back to his best.Diouf may have been signed as his replacement but he's fought him off for the central role(although he's been terrific wide). With Moses on the left we've almost stumbled on a perfect attacking three! For me it went downhill a little after Diouf went off although Arnie did well.

With his back to goal he was immense. Facing goal he was weak.

Really has made that position his own. Causing problems, scoring and creating chances - can't really ask for much more.
Oh and you can tell he's up for it too. It's always noted how much of a nice bloke he is but he's no shrinking violet on the pitch.

Crouchy is playing a lot better than last season in my opinion. He seems to benefitting from the extra pace in the team.

Is it me? Or does he carry the ball forward a lot more now?
Seems to open his legs out more and run rather than release at the earliest opportunity.

He was superb. Always made the ball stick and gave Williamson and colocini an absolute nightmare all evening. They'll both be having a sleepless night thinking about crouchy.

What a good buy he's proved to be. Offer him an extension maybe?

Neville highlighted the difference a physical focal point (with skill)makes to a team.Newcastle just don't have it.Credit Croucht for the pressure he takes off the players around him

What a good buy he's proved to be. Offer him an extension maybe? Now he has pace around him he is a different player. These tall players who don't rely on their pace get better with age. Think he has a few years left in him yet at this level.

Great header and good link up play. As per usual.
Poor on the counter though. Twice in the first half Moses broke brilliantly up the pitch and played Crouch into great positions and we got nothing from either.

Crouchaldinho always finds a way to impress. If he's not scoring with an amazing volley or height winning header he's usually winning the ball as a target man or receiving a pass and holding up play for speedsters like Moses. Crouch is a intricate part of our team, he fills a niche not many can easily replace with his height and foot skill. Glad to see him scoring tbh he's a quality filled lad with even better attitude and respect for our club.

He is quite simple a very talented, and to use Hughes description very accomplished, footballer his goal was classic old fashioned CF play and to believe some muppets on here were offering to drive him down to sign for Arry...... beggars belief

I love the guy. He can score, but he also does a great job of knocking down balls from the air. It'd be wise to surround him with other good offensive players, and create even more chances.

Missed a couple of chances first half - continually fouled throughout with nothing given - isolated towards the end
even so - 8/10 maybe 9/10

Excellent at holding it up and feeding our pacey attackers. Also his contribution in his own box can never be underestimated.

If the quick lay off is on he'll play it, but now he seems just as happy to drive forward with the ball more than previous seasons.

Excellent game from Crouchy and a shame Diouf had to go off as he feeds off the Big Man far better than an out and out wide man does. However, it still raises the question of what we do when he's unavailable or no longer here. Let's face it, most of us on here wouldn't have expected him to still be leading the line and it probably throws up as many questions as answers. For instance, if Odemwingie was fit would he have started with Moses and Diouf in our first choice front three?

As a hold up man he's the best in the business. He's much more effective when players get up to him quickly.

He's proving that with pace up alongside and around him he is as effective a target man as you could wish to have at our level. Quality footballer with service to his feet, shame Pulis never realised this.
