I love Arnie but he's very much shit or champagne.

My gut feeling is that he'll be gone at the end of the season.

One thing he can do is take confidence from last night. The more games he plays the more match sharp he becomes. He will be fine. I guess Hughes will start him at the weekend as he seemed very happy with him during his interview.

Some sublime touches and others that were poor but he's moving in the right direction. A run in the team would get him back on track.

He played well lastnight. He could do with getting the ball in the back of the net abit more though to get his confidence up

I am not an avid Arnie fan....he is way too big headed, struts like he's a world beater, lazy player had to be told by Shawcross and Whelan to pull ya finger out. One incident that stands out for me was when he just wandered off the pitch, Mark hughes went mental at him, ranting and raving telling him to get back on and play, MH then takes a flying kick at a water bottle!!! Arnie must of had a bollocking at 1/2 time, because 2nd half he started to show the 'real arnie' and was unlucky to hit the post. Aah the old Arnie is lazy myth. Check out the stats, he tackles back as much as anyone. It's not going for him at the moment, and you could see the determination and frustration written all over his face last night. I'm not having that he's lazy though no way...

Arnie needs games, he needs to see plenty of the ball and he needs a bit of ego massaging. With this follows confidence, match fitness and a hard-working attitude. He has more skill than 95% of our players and, with the right coaxing, is a true match winner for us. We have plenty of solid pros, but few match winners, so he needs to be managed carefully, as Fuller was, to get the most out of him.
If we get him and Moses in full flow out wide, we will be a real handful for all teams in this league. We just need to sort out the number 10 position now.......

Probably belongs on the Muniesa thread but what a cracking piece of man management that is by Hughes with regards the Pieters/ Muni rotation.

My gut feeling is that he'll be gone at the end of the season. Really? To which club though? He would have to have had a blinding season to go to a club which he feels matches his talent (ie a Champions League club). I think Arnie is a bit like SNZ - they both think they are better than us, but no club better than us wants to buy them, so they stay put.

I think Arnie is a bit like SNZ - they both think they are better than us, but no club better than us wants to buy them, so they stay put. If he's not in our starting XI on a regular basis then he'll want to move as I'm not sure he's got the mindset to buckle down. Don't get me wrong, I love his potential but I worry we'll ever see the player we think he can be. At the moment you'd argue that the front three that started last night is our first choice as Diouf, although not a winger, offer us pace and (hopefully) goals. I don't think Arnie has the goals in him but I would love to see him go on to become an all-time favourite, I really would. Let's see. I know you'll point out the error of my ways when the time is right

“He was very lively going forward but he was also very consciences in his defensive duties and was closing opposing players down quickly which was incredibly pleasing. "
Well spell checked!

While we're at it, can we drop the Arnie Arnie chant.
Marko Arnautovic to the the same tune as the Chelski fans chant Jose Mourinho's name would be so much better.
And Bego Bego Bego... jesus wept

That move where he held off 3 players by our own corner flag before coming away with the ball was class.
