The only reason he passed backwards was because he had nothing on infront of him, it's not something he normally does.

I rest my case. Goodnight. He didn't have a great game, deal with it. No need to go on a tantrum. Who's having a tantrum, just obvious you'd be on that's all, just need sportsman now, oh...

He has forward phobia. He literally balks whenever he has the option of a progressive move. Assured on the ball maybe, but absolutely no cutting edge, or what seems like true desire. Tonight he could have either pushed on himself and really worried their defence, or played some killer passes, but that's never his first instinct. Agreed he can hold up play well but he's a one trick pony on that front. Annoying.

Whenever he got the ball he passed it backwards. We lost momentum , impetus and attacking threat every time he got the ball. There is nothing else to say. He was very poor. Adam completed 66% of his passes versus nzonzis 86%... Given we spent a lot of the game 1 up and Charlie created no key chances possession is vital. He did fine in possession Yes ...but 65% of Adams passes were forwards. Nzonzis were 85% backwards.!

Stoke fans would rather a player smash it 30 yards upfield and lose possession than keep the ball.

A bit like Arnie he just frustrated the shit out of me because you know he has the ability. I really wish he take a few more shots as well he seems to get the ball in the right areas at times and just passes when really he could have a pop. He's not the only one guilty of that mind.

The main reason Stoke failed to impress tonight IMO was the lack of enterprise and adventure from this man.
I realise he has his instructions from the gaffer but really, I was constantly screaming at him to get forward. Get in the box. Just stop stifling our play.
If he was given a free reign to get in the box when we are on the front foot, I believe that is the secret to making us a dangerous side this season (Assuming tonights injuries are short term).
Maybe his performance (as seen by the fans) was more down to Mark Hughes than himself!!!!

APPALLING tonight.
Doesn't press the ball, doesn't tackle and most importantly of all, for a team that plays counter attacking football, slows everything down and goes backwards.
He could be such a class act but he doesn't seem arsed. Drop Charlie back with Whelan

Really frustrating at times and he always seems to look for a pass sideways or backwards instead of forward! The abilty is there though, but I really question his decision making!

All that leads to is them re-grouping and us lumping it when under pressure.

It was a bit of an overreaction in a lot of the situations. The first couple were in a way, justifiable, but then even when there was no one to pass to upfront, the crowd were getting at him.

The treatment dished out to N'zonzi tonight by his own supporters was wrong, very harsh, embarrassing and quite frankly displayed a complete lack of knowledge about the game they were watching.
He made the wrong decision ONCE in the 1st half when he should have played in Diouf but turned back and from that moment he became the boo boy.
It clearly affected him and it is just sad that one of our better players is subjected to such mindless treatment.
For anyone that didn't notice, 2 midfield players today did the work for 3 and I'm not knocking a clearly injured Adam in saying that.
Idiots. Total, complete and utter idiots.

For the first time since he came to Stoke I've realised that I'd prefer N Zonzi out of the team. He can be class etc etc but tonight he was so negative it was unreal. The amount of times he got near attacking positions and then either passed backwards or walked was unreal. The fact that he's put in 2 transfer requests too means he obviously doesn't want to be here and he's here for the money until a better club comes along but that aint gonna happen. Good riddance for all I care, i've completely gone off the arrogant, moody fucker.

When he gets on his bike and drives forward with the ball he is a top player. He can only be arsed to do it once a game so I can understand people being frustrated but ironic cheers are fucking stupid. He is a big player for us and is improving all the time under hughes

Wasn't at his very best but some of our fans are idiots. I could have swung for about 25 people in close proximity to me when they started losing their shit when he kept the ball.

Not really noticed when at the games but not gone tonight but the crowd are really getting on his back. As soon as he gets the ball the fans are having a go at him. Seems really harsh, certainly doesn't sound good on TV Thought it was disgraceful
