Wages will be the sticking point, exactly the same as Assaidi, we just cannot compete with the Chelsea, Liverpool wages

Reminds me of when we had Shawcross and Steino on loan: if a player comes on loan and lifts the overall standards you've got to sign him permanently, even if it means stretching the finances a bit.

Agreed, but we also have to consider where the players ambitions lie, is Moses ready to give up on the whole Champions League dream? It may have given up on him in truth but does he realise it yet I think that is the real question.

I haven't heard his interview but there isn't a chance in hell he'll be playing firstly team footy for Chelsea.

We are 11th. In my opinion he would walk into 7 of the teams above us this evening.
Bids commence at 10M. Can't see it myself.

Worth it or not, the wage structure will not be stretched to far away from where it is now, that is clear from previous attempts at signing class players.

I think he's good enough to be a squad man at Chelsea (and so did Benitez who used him a lot) but it doesn't look like Jose agrees.
Mourinho will look to sell in the summer, you'd think?
I think Everton will be the main threat with the Martinez link-up.
Them aside, I think we could compete with all likely domestic bidders?

It won't, I don't think thats why Assiadi didn't get what he wanted, it was pretty much inside the wage limit, but he wanted what the top earners are on, clearly not worth it but Moses would be.

I haven't looked at the table but in my opinion, only Everton and Southampton would be teams who would be serious contenders with us for his signature. Chelsea would definitely sell him for circa £12 million and he'd easily be worth that amount (to us at least).

I think we can compete in terms of transfer but really personal terms would be the issue. How much do you think he is on at Chelsea, 60 - 80k?

His decision is out of our hands in that respect, but it somehow feels like he belongs at Stoke in a way that doesn't happen too often with loan players. We're bigger than Wigan but not as big as Chelsea or Liverpool, and maybe Hughes can convince him that's the level where he'll get the most out of his career. I just have a sneaky feeling about this.

Should be the main priority between now and Jan, the sooner we get it tied up the cheaper he'll be.
Imagine if we'd have had Odemwingie on the other wing.

50-55k was the figure bandied around when he joined Liverpool.
Maybe that's feasible for us?
Fair play to him if he's still dreaming of Chelsea (and why wouldn't you?) - but I think he's going to be disappointed there.
Man City
Chelsea Arsenal Man Utd
Liverpool Spurs Everton
Everyone else with Stoke, Southampton, Newcastle? as contenders
I'm struggling to see Man City, Arsenal, Spurs or Man United coming in for him. So that'd leave us battling with the likes of Everton, Southampton and maybe a north-east club or a West Ham if any of them get their arses in gear. If we're in possession of a happy player, you'd fancy us?
There are only so many slots for wingers to get 30+ starts in the Premier League at the better teams.

Seemed to give us the cold shoulder when asked on radio stoke after the game. Just said he's a chelsea player, he's here too work I suppose he needs to keep his options open where his parent club is concerned, however it does really seem that there is only one way he is going to go at Chelsea and that is through the exit door.

Already looking like a must-have player if we can do a deal in January. Streets ahead of Assaidi and more than a few levels above Arnie in terms of speed, craft, work rate etc. I'd worry if we lost him as it would be back to square one. We have the money.........

But I repeat, does Moses have the will? To join us I mean, and give up on his Champs League dream, I'm much less sure of that... You will tell me his Champs League dream has given up on him but I don't think he believes that for half of one second. We'll see

Absolute quality, you can tell from sparkies interviews he loves him. Dust the cheque book off uncle Pete easy for us to tell pc to dust the cheque book off, but at the end of the day it has to be a good deal for stoke city and victor moses. imo Chelsea will be seeking an inflated price for him mainly due to the huge outlay they have spent in the last few years. they even thought torres was worth 60m?????? if we can fit him in our wage structure and get him for a reasonable fee then everyone will be happy.i just hope he stays fit, he took a bit of a kicking off Newcastle last night with zero protection from another incompetent ref.

As has been said above, he was very non-committal in the interview and his reviews are likely to attract interest from other suitors. I can't see him getting anywhere near the Chelsea first team so a lot will depend on whether he's prepared to accept that his future lies elsewhere.
