It shouldn't be. We might make it look like that. Let's be honest Newcastle are in absolute chaos and their fans will be no doubt calling for the managers head before a ball has been kicked. If we can't win at home to Villa, Leicester and a side in worse form than ourselves who are on the brink of sacking their manager then one or two questions do need to be asked. We need the 3 points on Saturday no running away from it imo. Monday. We need the three points, I'm just saying it might not be the walkover people are trying to build it up as. The manager situation hasn't stopped them battling back from two goals down last weekend and winning away in the cup with 10 men in the win in the week. They have plenty of talented players in their ranks. I'm sure we won't make it look easy but I really do think they are a side with serious problems and one we should be putting to bed. Their performance against Southampton was one of the most inept premier league performances one will ever see. The defending was something you might see in the conference. Having good players doesn't mean a lot. Getting them to play well is what counts. Hughes will tell you that from his time at QPR where he had a team consisting of Real Madrid midfielders and champions league winning defenders. If Pardew loses to us I imagine he's gone in fairness.

There is now a massive incentive for Stoke to win this match.
A 2 clear goal win could propel Stoke to 8th place in the Prem. A defeat will drop them into the relegation zone, as either West Brom or Burnley will move above them tomorrow.

I'd be surprised if the team wasn't:
Bego
Bards Ryan Wilo Pieters
Whelan N'zonzi
Diouf Ireland Moses
Crouch

Yeah, Erik hasn't done too much wrong but MH has form for picking players who have done well when the chance comes to impress. Done it with KJ and Walters to name but two.

Hope it's the same back 4 that started at Sunderland. IMO Stoke looked very exposed at times against Sunderland. Huth and Muniesa were both well beaten at times and were only saved by Sunderland's poor finishing and Butland.

If you play a formation like that then surely it has to be Assaidi on the left? With Arnautovic as the second option? I don't really think we should be trying players in positions they don't play in an important league game. Towards the end of the season if and when there's nothing to play for, yes. When you haven't won a home game and have only won one of your first five games, No. Newcastle know that if muniesa plays lb he will venture forward. Shawcross has said he likes whelan in front of him Diouf and crouch are playing well together. Muniesa is desperate to play. You cant leave n zonzi out. I believe that behind every forward moving should be a defensive player , for when possession is lost. I dont disagree with your comment.we need to start to see our barca lads showing their talents.i dont know if assaidi is fit enough. Can't say I'm convinced with Muniesa on the left of midfielder either, he did do well getting forward against Sunderland but I just don't think thats going to be a long term position for him (LM).

He was great going forward against Sunderland, but often forgot he needed to defend. That said he is still very young, and will get opportunities.

My frustration is simple. We should be approaching this game on ten points and we've only got five. We should not be nervous, we should be thinking about thrashing this arrogant bunch of twonks an their delusional truly detestable manager. Lets just hope our play finally gets what it really deserves and we put five or six up these bastards without reply, in front of a full house and the cameras
finally !!!!!
what a fucking dull weekend it is when Stoke Dont play !
even the Ryder cup stands are playing at being football supporter 'wannabees'

Other teams are winning the games they should be winning. Palace have got going now and Lester have points in the bank. No game is a formality but we do need to blow the cobwebs away by winning this game.

i will be amazed if muniesa doesnt get to start after his two goal blast at sunderland? given we have yet to score a home league goal we need help from all over the pitch. fingers crossed for a resounding victory to kick start our home form.

It would only serve to demonstrate that players arent selected on form, as I have no doubts about his effort in training, the lad is a glowing example. Do the right thing Sparky!

Pieters has been in good form too, so its not like he's leaving an out of form player in the side over one thats been looking promising, Muniesa needs to keep going as he is doing and his time will come.
