What has he done wrong here? He was obviously asked about Crouch and he answered. I think some are becoming very sensitive since we joined the prem shit.

He's very good at manipulating the media. You don't get them asking Van Gaal would you fancy Aguearo here do you. He's probably had a little word with the reporter before the interview.

Hang on this is Harry Redknapp were talking about here. It's not like some slip of the tongue from a manager who wouldn't usually talk about other teams players. He is a consistent abuser of this code. Unsettling players, sowing the seeds of a move mid season. It stinks and he's always, always done it. I get the feeling sometimes that you'd side with anyone who isn't our management team....

If Harry or anyone wanted Crouch I would expect then to get the message to him without making a comment in a paper. Surly if any manager wants a player they let the players agent know? Since we have got into this shit league some of our 'fans' have become everything we hated about other clubs. Bring back the lower leagues and a sense of reality.

Pot. Kettle. The only good thing about being in the prem is the money. Other than that it is a corrupt league run by a bunch of soft arsed cunts that are gradually ruining the game and making it a non contact sport. Once more it is turning a load of real, working class fans into a bunch of snobs. Give me the lower leagues and the proper fans back any day.

Unfortunately I don't think that the answer is relegation back to a league in which the aim is to get (back ) to the Prem. Without the possibility of promotion I don't see the point/aim in the Championship. ....so I feel pretty much snookered

The premiership and the football league have turned our football into a money grabbing joke. Cheats who dive blatantly, the constant pulling of shirts in the penalty area, refs who blatantly pander to the top clubs, greed has taken our once national game into a money making pit, where the supporters are an afterthought. The money from Sky and other tv companies is distributed to the premier league, and its no wonder we cant make a decent England team when the majority of premier players are foreign. Its only going to get worse, the voice of reason and sense will not be heard as long as there is a corrupt organisation pulling the strings. Rant over.

Given the way we seem to be playing now Crouch is crucial to us.
The fact that he has looked very good this season should make a new contract a no brainer.
I'm pretty sure he'll finish our top scorer again this season so hopefully he won't be going anywhere.

hang on.......so Redknapp was strongly rumoured to be looking at Crouch in the Summer transfer window (i.e. a few weeks back), he impresses against Harry and then harry (unsurprisingly) gets asked about him so he pays him compliments???? hold the fucking back page lads, hell of a story this one!!!!!
talk about making a mountain out of a complete non-story....from now on i presume we'll slag off any player that Hughes compliments from here in on as well yeah or is it only other managers we slag off in non-story situations???
jeez!
amazing how when it suits us then we brush off comments like this from certain websites as them just making things out of nothing but when there's a good excuse to slag someone off (even when it's ridiculously tenuous!) then the Oatcake swoop in. it's becoming boring now.

Journalists ask different types of questions to different managers based on their knowledge of them and the answers they expect. Most manager don't comment on other clubs players unless a transfer bid has been made, or the player has been publicly made available or transfer listed by his host club, so don't get asked leading questions of this type. All Redknapp has to say when asked about other team's contracted players is something like 'Out of respect for other clubs I won't comment on their players'. Then the journalists will eventually stop asking the question. Anyone would think he encourages these questions????
