Police are looking for a Latvian builder as the major suspect. missing girlIt now emerges that he has a murder conviction, and was only let out of gaol in 2005. regardless of whether he has had anything to do with the girl - WTF are we doing letting convicted murderers into the country to work in the first place ?

Where's Frasie when you need him, convicted murderes let in by Blair and Brown open door policies, great, you can't even get into some countries if you've spat out chewing gum. Shut the doors and mount the machine guns.

I don't think there is any "somehow" about it, Latvia is in the EU so I guess he just stepped of the afternoon Easy JET flight from Riga to Stansted in to our welcoming arms. The authorities here had no idea he is a convicted murderer and there is no reason at all why they might, you can't ask personal questions like that. Indeed I imagine a significant number of convicted murderers from the EU accession countries are happily walking among us unbeknown to anyone. Of course he has now also murdered and almost certainly sexually assaulted a child on the build up to the killing and it transpires that in 2009 he committed a sexual assault on another 14 year old girl for which he was interviewed but needless to say not apprehended. Heaven knows what else he has done. I love the way the police said today they believe he is still in the country since they found his passport. It gives the quaint idea that we somehow have control of the borders. Even if you put to one side the fact that you can buy a working passport on Tottenham Court Road for £50 if you leave the country of a ferry in my experience the passport control depot is only manned at most half of the time. My best guess is this fella is off in a cloud of cats piss never to be seen again

I don't think there is any "somehow" about it, Latvia is in the EU so I guess we welcomed him in. The authorities here had no idea he is a convicted murderer and there is no reason at all why they might. I would imagine a large number of convicted murderers from the EU are happily walking among us unbeknown to anyone. Of course he has now murdered a child this time and also committed a sexual assault in London for which he was interviewed a while ago but not apprehended. Heaven knows what else he has done. Just a bit more on this Latvian gent who has done away with this poor 14 year old girl. I was curious as to how he had murdered his young wife of 3 years in 1998 yet was free by 2005 thinking perhaps there were some mitigating circumstances. Well it turns out he lured her in to the woods, bludgeoned her to death with a piece of scaffolding, placed her in a shallow grave he had dug beforehand then sat down and drank a bottle of vodka to celebrate. I'm not sure exactly when the case came to trial and exactly when he got out but he must have served no more than 6 years at the very maximum. Scary, scary stuff...

I don't believe that we can't refuse the cunt entry to our country. EU or no EU. He is a walking fucking crime wave.

The Home Office maintains a database of foreign criminals called the "warnings index" but it is considered unreliable since many overseas governments fail to provide the information, presumably because they are quietly rather pleased to have these criminals out of their country. I believe the UK is lobbying the EU to make contributing to this list mandatory. But for the moment you are at liberty to kill someone in your own country, serve a short sentence and go do it somewhere else
