we have a great strong squad this season with plenty of options - giving MH a nice headache - there are bound to be players who will be missing for a while or players that you wouldn't play.... or players like huth and Cameron to get back
im sure it will take until Christmas before MH will know his strongest/regular side?
thoughts?

If a couple of Stoke's shots had gone in in the first half on Saturday, Stoke would be 7th above Arsenal, ManU, Liverpool and Everton. I don't expect it will take till Christmas this season for Stoke to get into gear. They were very creative against Leicester, the goals will soon come. MH should not meddle with the defence (i.e.bring in Huth); they've only let in 3 goals, the second lowest in the Prem. IMO they should keep playing together to become the best back line in the Prem.

I think we should get into our stride around mid-late October time to be honest. Until then, anyone can theoretically beat anyone as it usually takes time for new styles of play to settle, most players to 'tick' and new players to grow into the pre-existing dynamics of a team. For example, how often do you see teams towards the top of the league in the early weeks of a season who end up falling away and also teams who struggle at the start but start to click after a little while. Quite Often. Do you really think Villa and Swansea will still be up towards the top of the table by Christmas? Somehow, I think they will fall away into mid-table by then.

I hope not. We briefly slipped in to the bottom 3 on February 1st of this year, if we find ourselves in the bottom 3 on February 1st 2015 then I fancy we will be in the territory of Peter Coates pumping out a 'settler' message to calm the restless natives

A decent manager should be able to sort it out a lot sooner than by Christmas.

Especially as 3 of those came from a "bonus game".

Still, you gotta save face.

Had Saturdays performance been managed by a certain TP then he'd have been crucified by the likes of werrington and yet he says I'M becoming more hilarious. And before it gets said, yes I did agree that performances under TP were very poor.

You NEVER ONCE criticised Pulis NOT ONCE yet you are all over Mark Hughes like a rash given what he achieved in his first season You steadfastly defended EVERY performance and EVERY team selection until Pulis fell out with a player then you steadfastly defended his decision to drop him but you are more than happy to criticise Hughes players and team selections He's gone FFS just get over him

Well, please enlighten me about how the gameplan of Hughes along with its performance on Saturday merits you not criticizing it for what it was. Still, you gotta save face wezzer.

Two good away results and two poor home results isn't cause for panic. Get the home games sorted and away we go. We have only let in 3 goals but the manner of them needs sorting giving the attack some breathing space.

I've circled Sunderland on Tuesday. Having a deep squad lends an ability to really try to win a cup this year, and how we gel going in to the qpr match and bounce back for sunderland will mean alot. If we do well, morale will be high. If not we have a lot of challenging matches leading to tTottenham in November. We need to figure it out now, because our second half of the season is no cake walk.

I think you have different teams for different opponents. An obvious example is Walters, great away from home in a defensive display, but shouldn't ever be starting at home against weaker teams
