Yes
Although the thought of them voting yes and leaving us with a permanent Tory government worries me !

You don't have to be Scottish to vote! I'm pretty sure Staffs means if you were living in Scotland and had a vote tomorrow ( but I guess you know that's what he meant )

I'm pretty sure Staffs means if you were living in Scotland and had a vote tomorrow ( but I guess you know that's what he meant ) Yeah - just pulling his leg a bit. A better subject title would be "If you had a vote in the referendum... which way would you vote" I do - but I'm not saying, just now, which way I'm voting! But it's going to be...

I think/hope I'd vote no - because I do believe in the Union which has meant that the United Kingdom still punches above its weight in the world in all sorts of fields from science to engineering to literature - and has a lot to be proud of in two world wars and many other things including leading the fight against slavery - admittedly after being one of the major exponents of it!
But if I was Scottish, I might feel differently, although I do have Scottish relatives and they, in the main, seem to be in favour of Unity.

Tough question but I think I'd probably vote no, and carry on having the best of both worlds, i.e having my own parliment spending somebody elses taxes.

Nothing kinky for me here, I'm a straight, no frills "No" man. We'd be picking the bits out of this f*cker on both sides of the border not just for years but for decades if it happened. Also I quite like the old Scots in a strange way

I'd vote No..... but not for the union but to avoid economic uncertainty.
The one thing that this has shown is that the union isn't all that.

Id have to vote 'No'. It (independence) would be unsustainable, especially if they are relying on oil sales to pretty-much single handedly keep the economy in check.

Which ever way it goes, and I hope it's a no, it will leave divisions and confrontations for generations to come. Salmond .....panic, chaos and confusion your work is nearly done you prick.

Any Scot voting no is using their voting power today to lose their voting power tomorrow. That is the rub.
They have to vote yes, surely?

Based on all the bribes they've been offered to stay I'd definitely vote no. Salmonds economic plans just don't stack up to me.
As an Englishman I'd like them to leave though, they seem to be costing more than they put in and this kind of geographical bias just isn't on.

They say there are about half a mill, still to decide. they will bottle it, and Scotland will still be in Britain.
All a nonsense & waste of money & time over something that will not happen.
Mark my words...

Got to be a no. Too much to risk and too many unknowns. The key is there is no turning back so you have to be 100% certain what you are voting for.

On a lighter note, Buckie will be more expensive in an independent Scotland......now that would be a "no" vote winner in Glasgow

If it was put to the Union as a whole and not just Scotland , I think you would find that it is ......this is about far more than just economics as far I'm concerned I agree but the question was...if you were scottish...and on that basis I'd be looking around wondering on earth so many could be willing to throw it away. Like I say, there are a lot of Scottish people that clearly don't care about it and what the rest of the UK thinks doesn't really come in to it. It's not much of a union if you have to beg people to stay.

When they get their independence, they will have elections for a new Government.

Personally, quite frankly I couldn't give a monkeys what they do.
Given the dogs abuse we English get whenever we play any kind of sporting occasion against them, they always feel like some ultra aggressive foreign nation anyway.
Unlike Ireland who would sink to the bottom of the ocean if we pulled the plug, unfortunately Scotland, being physically attached, would just drag us down with them . . . . but I'd be willing to take that chance!
