Sounds crazy at first but stop to think about it.
I found his interview really weird and he sounded down and dispirited, as if he knew he was about to lose his job. But maybe that is what he WANTS to happen?
He still has 8 YEARS left on his contract. Probably sick of being up Norf and cant stand the Geordies.
So why not set his team up to play like complete plonkers?
End result is he will get sacked with an 8 years pay-off from the idiot Mike Ashley
The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. I would do the same if I could get 8 years pay upfront for doing a shit job in a shit town I dont like!

No, of course he's not, but Ashley has sold all of Newcastle's best players and is expecting results. Can't blame Pardew for that.

Lets just hope Ashley doesnt have the cahonas to pay Pardew off before then I expect when they play us, for one match only, we'll see a managerial dream team of King Kev, Shearer, Peter Beardsley, Jackie Milburn, Mirandinha and Asprilla. Steven Taylor will be so inspired he will do his Tommy Cooper routine on the penalty spot every time Bego tries to take a goal kick.

Apart from that time in our game two years ago when he was trying really hard to be funny, and succeeded only in being unintentionally unfunny.

Would have been really funny if he'd done it for us I suppose. His "it wasn't a penalty, I've been shot" act is quite brilliant.

There was something just too incongruent about it for me to find it funny, even now. It must be the way he invaded Bego's space, like a stranger on the bus snatching your magazine out of your hands and pulling a funny face at you, or the bloke on the next door table at a restaurant suddenly climbing onto your table and doing a silly dance. You know he's probably harmless, but then again, what the hell is he doing this for, and where is it going to lead?

This is all set up for him to be sacked after next Saturday, for TP to take over and get a 1-0 win in his first game - away at Stoke!

Surely no manager would instruct his team to play below par to achieve his own ends - oh hang on

Surely no manager would instruct his team to play below par to achieve his own ends - oh hang on or deliberately play players out of position because he didnt get the funds he wanted in the transfer window

Ashley is financially very cute and he will only get a ONE YEAR payoff when sacked despite the length of his contract.

Ashley is financially very cute and he will only get a ONE YEAR payoff when sacked despite the length of his contract. So he's effectively on a rolling contract, without the prospect of a pay increase for 8 years, regardless of how well he does?
