Where is he ?
With Ireland due back he must be well down the pecking order as he couldn't even make the bench yesterday

Said the same last night mate and when he came in yesterday[all alone]he didn't look very happy at all.Didn't his move to Villa go tits up because he couldn't settle north of the smoke?

That's my point also mutts If he can't make the bench now then he's gonna be further away when Ireland comes back ? Not heard if he's injured

Not sure we 'needed' him on the bench, especially at home to Leicester.

At the end of the day Hughes can only name 18 in the match day squad.
Imagine if Odemwingie, Ireland and Cameron were all fit - then there'd be more than just Sidwell not happy at the moment.

Given the amount of senior pros at the club, suppose there's always going to be 3 of them who can't even make the bench every week
I did think he'd be an absolute guaranteed bench player though.
He's starting to look very fringey.

Never made sense to sign him really but I would have had on the bench. There was no need for both Assaidi and Arnie on there. But lets be honest one of them should have started with Walters watching Everton at the Hawthorns.

Not heard if he's injured He is mate and surely players like him won't be happy with that?Like Paul says there will be 4 every week who won't make the bench[if fit] so in a way the injuries have done Sparky a favour in a strange way.

He's starting to look very fringey. As a professional footballer surely everyone wants to play or at least be on the bench. Otherwise what do they do week to week?

Surely he didn't roll up expecting to be a shoe in? He's come from a relegated club to a top ten side.
Needs to work hard and get in the team and prove to the manager he's worth his place.

Didn't realise he drove away from the ground before the game,i really don't get why squad players don't hang around and watch the match just like Butland and Palacios did yesterday.

Didn't Sidwell get 10 goals from midfield last season in a team that was relegated?
Our midfield 2 of yesterday got a princely sum of 2 between them all season. I would argue, that if fit, Sidwell should be in serious contention for a starting place in these games where we simply can't buy a goal against teams whose sole objective is to defend for 90 minutes.
However, he picked up an injury in pre-season and it would appear that he is still struggling to shake that off.

I think he might be the surprise of the season for us. Diouf, Bojan, Moses etc seem like the hugely exciting players but I reckon Sidwell could do well for us. Heard a lot of good things from Fulham fans who seem to think he was just about their only good player last season.

If Nzonzi or Whelan are injured or suspended, you'd think he'd be needed immediately. Unless Hughes sees Cameron as a better option?

If our current difficulties continue, I can see us accidentally stumbling upon Sidwell as being the solution. A box-to-box midfielder who's able to get into goal scoring positions doesn't sound a million miles from what we need at the moment.

I'd rather have him in the team instead of Whelan, at least he'd score a few.

Another 2 games pass by and he's nowhere to be seen not even on the bench for either game.WTF is going on with him?Anybody heard anything or is it just the fact that Hughes doesn't think he's good enough at the minute and if so why sign him?
