Could be surprise contenders for the drop.
Just been listening to him on Talkshite and apparently having not made a major signing to boost the squad and having a set of players that finished 10th, our 2 home defeats can be explained by complacency.
He fancies us for the drop as a result apparently.

When you lose your 1st 2 home games against Villa and Leicester then alarm bells should be ringing for all of us imo.Like i said yesterday i think we'll be best suited in away games with our counter attacking set up.

A win next week and no doubt we'll be top 6 material. The section of fans we have on here are ridiculously reactive, they have no sense of perspective. Also add the underlying agendas and poison of a lot means it'll be like this all season. Sad but true.

I think we'll be ok but the performances I find alarming at home as no one knows what they're supposed to do, that is if there's a gameplan at home instead of just waiting 'as Tony used to say' for a bit of luck and for something to drop.

Our two home performances could be put down to complacency absolutely. They could also be put down to a lot of other things also.
Too early to be making those kind of judgements.

I'm reporting what was said and not saying I agree just to clear any potential confusion.
I was tearing my hair out listening to him. No major signings (we got the 1 player Hughes had wanted since coming here) and we finished 9th not 10th.
Our group aren't the type to be complacent. As I posted after Man City we have a team capable of beating anyone but equally are capable of losing to anyone as well.
We'll be fine this season in my opinion but yesterdays defeat rankled more than the Villa one.

Complacent... I would agree in some instances. Favored for the drop? Seriously? I have a big difference of opinion on that. The Man Citeh defensive display away from the brit versus that opposition lends me to believe we'll scrap for points as always, its our attacking form that has me worried. I doubt on us being relegated this early as should most sides.

We have the natural side to play away on the break and I predict our away form will be the best it's ever been this season. At home we'll have to tweak a few things here and there but Hughes will get it right. Patience.

I was in the Waddo, yesterday and Wheelan (who was MoM) was being interviewed by TC. Wheelan mentioned 3 times that teams were coming here giving us the respect we deserved after last year. It certainly got me thinking that we just think we can turn up and roll teams over at the Brit. The last two league games proves we can't and It needs sorting ASAP.

We have a lot of good players but really need Diouf to deliver goals now that Odemwingie is out , otherwise we could have more games where we can't kill teams off despite dominating possession

As frustrated as I am after the last two home games I still think its exciting watching us. You just don't know what you're going get with us. But it's having players available that can do something out of nothing that makes it a must see and exciting.

10 home wins is to be comfortable to stay in the prem. At a minimum 3 points from the first 2 home games what should have been expected. When you lose your first 2 home games it's obvious the finger of relegation will be pointed its just today's football world. Home form is critical.

No one is pushing the panic button over here but I think a few were concerned re goal scoring before the season started. 2 goals in 4 doesn't quite put those anxieties to bed and the sooner we (and I quote Nige), the sooner we put someone to the sword the better.

2 horrendous home results means we are playing catch-up if we are even half serious about emulating last seasons achievements but I don't think complacency was behind either of them. We were not ruthless enough and didn't get the rub of the green.

I'm betting the Brit won't be a fortress this year but to balance that I think we'll pick up more points away this season than in any previous season.....our style/tactics will dictate that. So we may well lose 6 or 7 home games but equally we'll probably win the same amount away to compensate

Whilst we have undoubtedly strengthened the squad I remain unconvinced that we've massively strengthened our first 11, certainly not our 4-2-3-1 first 11 so in that sense, perhaps we have no right to expect to improve or even stand still and we will struggle a bit. Going down though is the talk of someone with magic in their head.

To under play the significance of these 2 home results (and performances) is as silly as going into panic mode. We will be playing many of the 'big boys' when they have settled into some form and those 6 points are going to look mighty significant when we go a few weeks not picking up any. Curbishley's assessment while not very pleasant on our ears is not all that unreasonable until we show we are capable of doing something different/better. The difference between the Villa performance and yesterday did not really suggest we had learned much.

Whilst the win at Manchester City was an amazingly good result, so far this season Stoke have been disappointing in the extreme. The two home defeats against moderate opposition leave you tearing your hair. And Hull, a man down after 15 minutes, were there for the taking.
Of course its too early to make any long term assessment - other results in the Premiership this season have been crazy - but this 'jam tomorrow' assumption with Stoke can only last so long.
I think this manager and this squad will come good eventually but fans are entitled to expect a few more encouraging signs early doors.
