best finisher by a mile , clinical and tough with real pace , our forwards look very very short of goals now so we have to find another way starting with Adam who is the only one who can add one or two from Midfield .
Ireland , bojan , etc just don't offer goals

Unfortunately we couldn't convert our chances, but we played quite well at least! Moses needs to go for it much more himself, and with Assaidi and Arnie as back up this must come good in the end (I hope)!

I definitely hope you're right, however, the thing is we didn't bring one save out of their goalie all game as far as I can remember...not 1... and when we did have a decent chance we missed the goal by some distance. This has been an issue for some time now and Bojan and Diouff were no doubt intended to address it. I am hopeful that at least one of them does but we cannot afford to keep dropping points to teams that we are playing off of the park. 2 losses at home out of 2 is a worrying statistic!!

I think both Diouf and Moses tested their goalkeeper during the last minutes if I can recall this right. The header Crouch missed in the first half though was a sitter!

I think we have missed him but when you take a step back and look at it we aint half pinning our hopes on some completely inconsistent performers! Odemwinge himself has a 'hot and cold' reputation, Arnie is unpredictability personified, Bojan is completely unproven as is Diouf, and Moses has spent part of his career as a 'superstar in the making' but also a fair old chunk of it as 'the forgotten man'. Our attacking structure is built on foundations of quick sand!

Must have been staring at my shoes in depression or something, it seemed like we had all the play but did fuck-all with it tbh. The crouch miss was a sitter, wasn't it, no wonder we spent the transfer window looking for a striker, Crouchie is skillful but he's hardly full of goals.....and Walter's is even less clinical if that's possible

We are missing Marko (creativity) and Wingy (goals) from last season's run-in. Such a shame about Wingy, but what the hell has Marko done to drop out of the picture totally? Even though he is not my favourite player, Charlie Adam got his fair share of goals too last season and can turn a game coming on. We have passed in front of both Villa and Leicester now, not got in behind them and Walters' honest endeavour will not get that particular job done!

Yes, he was a waste of a shirt at Hull, but we all know there is an extremely talented player in there. Hughes got him to show it for large parts of the spring, and needs to work with him now to get him going this campaign. We are a far better team with a fit and on form Marko Arnautovic in our ranks.

Having been a Stoke supporter for 45 years I was not allowing myself to be as overly optimistic as most of the Stoke faithful, but I have to admit I was looking forward, most of all, to seeing if Odem & Arnie could start where they left off - these 2 were the key for me. The rest of the players we signed were all a bit unknown or just like for like.
I am gutted we have lost Odem and also that only Arnie's mouth has turned up for the start of the new season, he looks out of form and shape. We can't tell how the newbies are going to fit in just yet, one or 2 promising signs, but with Odem gone we are back with the goal scoring problems we had before his arrival. Adam also looked like he was hitting a bit of form at the back end last year, but has also come back out of shape and so far of the pace that he is a massive liability
We have to try and win 9 or 10 games at home to be assured of passing the 40pt mark and we now have only 17 home games to do so, so even though it is early in the season it is a bit worrying. I have seen stoke produce many nice football sides over the years and a lot of them struggle with relegation or get relegated. I am not buying into the 'we were unlucky theory' as most did yesterday, the bottom line is we have not scored a home goal against Villa or Leicester - which is not acceptable.

Ireland , bojan , etc just don't offer goals We've got more attacking options now than we've had for decades. Not counting Odemwingie, we've got Crouch, Walters, Arnie, Adam, Ireland, Diouf, Bojan, Assaidi and Moses. But Mark still doesn't seem to know his first choice eleven or, at times, how best to use his subs.
