Ah yes our largely German based transfers from a DOF (for want of a better term) who has big links there and a manager that played and has actually signed players from Germany before...... Maybe, who knows. We know for sure Pieters was a Puils signing. We do? We knew we were scouting him but we know we've scouted lots of foreign players and never signed them! Heck we had one on trial that he flatly rejected, who again rather ironically is now a regular for one of the clubs he mentions he visited for his dossier. So the lad's not good enough for Tony Pulis and Stoke but he's good enough for the club he wants to base a strategy on. You couldn't make it up......oh wait.

We were linked with Pieters well before Pulis was sacked but the suits had begun taking over transfers well before he was sacked also. Breken 'the biggest thing to come out of America since the NRA' Shea being the greatest example of this.

If you had a time machine, would you not appoint him after the Boskamp season?

Pulis was going to sign him in January, but he Eric in his infinite wisdom decided to punch a pane of glass.
Shea probably wasn't a Pulis signing, but did agree to it. Oh dear!
Oi! Less of the laughing emoticons, Bayern !

He spent 100M on turning us into the lowest scoring team in England with an ageing squad that had a resale value of a fifth of what he paid for it. Crowds were dropping from full houses to struggling to sell out for the big teams at 3pm on a Saturday. We now are virtually selling out against teams like Leicester at home. Bego , Shawcross and Huth alone were/are worth more than a 5th of what he spent. I really don't get why people are constantly trying to put down what he did for the club, yes, by the end he needed to go as he'd lost his way and was becoming difficult to watch but why some won't give him any credit I don't know, someone else may have been able to do what he did, stoping us getting relegated from the Championship with pretty much no money then climbing the table, getting promotion then establishing us but they didn't and Pulis did and he deserves some credit for it. Btw that last bit isn't directed just at you Onlooker, just a general observation.

Nonsense . Not a huge amount considering the team we had and what he turned us into in getting us there. You know that better than anyone. You are in a mischievous mood Sir Bayern. Not a huge amount? We spent 500k loaning Ameobi alone, it was a massive amount in terms of Stoke City. Our wage budget was well over 100% of turnover, Richard Cresswell was on 19k a week in the Championship (as used in evidence in a court of law) it was promotion or bust. He was more well than backed well, it was a phenomenal backing with one aim. Sorry had a few beers; Are you suggesting that TP had no significant influence on saving our relegation to obscurity or our promotion to the promised land?

Most Pompey fans don't like him but I've met a few who saw the real picture. Only Bristol City fans outright despise him to a man........and some daft Stoke cunts.

How much have SCFC (Bet 365) profited since our promotion to the promised land? If you had earned in direct/indirect profit as Peter, Denise and Jonathan you would be wetting yourself 24 hours a day. FFS give credit where credit is due instead of having a fucking narrow minded

Do you have any appreciation to watching Premiership Football and consider that TP had a significant input to SCFC's success. YES or NO. A one word answer please to alleviate any suggestions you have a personal agenda. YES or NO

I literally cannot believe what I'm reading on here.
Yeah not all the football was thrilling but what a ride the man gave us.
Historically one of our greatest ever managers, the 07-11 seasons will be talked about in 50 years time.
You may not like him but he deserves respect for what he's done for our team and City. 25 years out of the top flight ended and our first ever FA Cup final.
To call him toxic after what he achieved is insulting.

But you say what you said about the Coates family but they still sacked him, quite pertinent no? As for an agenda, no! That word is the worst thing to happen to this messageboard in the past 18 months.

The players he inherited were good but also demoralised and had won what, three times in five months? And with those 'foundations' we've had a prem finish we'd never achieved before with a new man at the helm?

That wouldn't have been possible during the early days of promotion. I think you know that already. There is no way we would of signed Bojan, Arnie, Diouf or the rest, being a newly promoted club . It takes time, experience and endeavour to develop the structure we have now. On the other side of the coin,Swansea did it quicker than us. An outstanding achievement .
