Surprised these three are still kicking their heels.
Don't suppose Pennant is desperate for the cash as he must be worth several million quid. I'm sure Etherington won't be short of money either, although his finances probably took a hit during his gambling phase.
If Ricardo Fuller, at almost 35, can get in at Millwall, would have thought these two could really offer something at that level.
And the situation with Agudelo is very odd. Is there really no-one on the continent willing to take the plunge on him on a free transfer? Will he be forced to go cap in hand back to MLS?

Jermaine is focusing on his DJ-ing isn't he?
Ethers will probably be in shock at how much less clubs are willing to pay him and Agudelo will no doubt end up back in the MLS.

Yeah - doubt we'll see Pennant re-sign anywhere. He'll retire to be a millionaire party boy.....and why not? Ethers seems the kind to stay in the game. Even at 33, I'm surprised he hasn't found a decent club for a season. Agudelo is the baffling one. Hughes was adamant he was a £10m player, and yet it seems no decent-sized club on the continent wants to take a punt on him on a free It'll be interesting to see if he makes anything of his career.

Had Greg Dyke not torpedoed the Agudelo transfer do you still think we would have gone ahead with Diouf and Bojan? I am curious as to whether he would have been as well as those two or instead of one or the other

I dont think Ethers is anywhere close to being rich so im surprised he hasnt taken one of the offers that has been presented. It seems like he has lost his love of the game.
I guess Agudelo wants a) to be at a decent club in Europe to justify his decision to leave USA and b) guaranteed to be starting so he can force his way back into the national US team.
So hes in a hard position to find the right move. Will probably end up back in the US

Heard Ethers on Talksport a couple of weeks ago saying he had "a few offers".. obviously none of them are very good.

I have a lot of time for Ether's. Whenever I saw him play for us, he gave nothing other than his best. Would love to see him finish off his career with a good club, and gain some success. Good luck to him in all he does! I also had the good fortune to have my photograph taken with him on my 60th birthday, and couldn't believe how slim he was.

Both Pennant and Etherington would do a job in Championship or League 1.
Agudelo hmmm

I doubt many teams would touch Pennant, hes was garbage at wolves when they were in the championship last time, and that was 2 seasons ago.
It would be good to see Ethers get a team, he was quality for us, unfortunately is age court up but would still do a good job in either the championship or league 1

Ethers is the one I'm really surprised at, wonder if his injury probs mean clubs are fighting shy?

I'm kind of not surprised by Ethers, a winger who relies on pace who has none isn't a hit usually.
But he will put a shift in and he will give full backs a hard time. I think he probably needs to lower his sights.

It may be Stoke have gone cold on Agudelo when they seen him at close quarters (like Shea), but if that is not the case and they still rate his potential, I'm surprised they haven't used contacts and got him a contract in Europe.
What I mean is acted as an agent for him, ever offered to subsidize his employment costs, all subject to a reciprocal arrangement whereby Stoke get a share of any future selling revenue, or an option to purchase him back if/when he qualifies as for a work permit in the UK.

Pennant was training with Millwall last week according to my Lions mate at work. Not impressed (him not pennant). Ricky is doing ok, still waiting for his first pass to a teammate though, still making his own chances apparently

Agudelo had a contract from 1860 München but he turned Ricardo Muniz down when TSV would not guarantee him playing time.

I think he probably needs to lower his sights. I remember when we signed Mark Walters on loan from Liverpool, he had lost his pace for top flight football, but was great for us, he went on to play for a while...cant remember who he ended up with, but I recall he was playing regularly for div 1/2 teams for a good few years. You would have thought Etherington would be able to do the same.

Unless West Ham get desperate I just can't see it. We should have sold him last summer really.

Unless West Ham get desperate I just can't see it. We should have sold him last summer really. It sounds like a few lower league clubs were willing to give him a go, but he still wants wages befitting his status as an ex premier league player. As a few others have pointed out, his pace has gone and he is injury prone so that probably ain't going to happen. The next move will show if he plays football for the love of it (probably still for a very decent £5-£10k p/w) or if he retires because he only plays for big money Not surprised no one has come in for Pennant - good footballer, but far too much hassle and baggage

Was surprised that if Agudelo was that good we didn't loan him out to qualify for a passport. Not much on the way of a wage bill, particularly if the other club made a contribution and far cheaper in the long run than a "£10m" transfer fee.

I read somewhere that there's a clause that says if a WP appeal is rejected, it can effectively terminate a contract if such clause exists... or something like that.

I thought MH and Co thought he was mustard. I can only deduce that they have changed their minds about him and along with others (e.g. Shea) don't rate Yanks that highly.
