I don't think he was physically able to. The fault didn't lie with him. I do. It looked more than gettable, needed to lead with his left, think he panicked. Not arsed though! He stretched for all he was worth. Ball not weighted right for him. It happens.

i think he's been good the last two games, mind you it is my team at the moment. If Ireland were healthy he'd be in there, and if Arnie were playing like he did at the end of last season he would too. I thought bojan should be our main striker to start the season, but now Crouchie is playing like a candidate for MVP. So, it's all about form right now for me. And Assaidi coming in for Arnie or bojan is dependent on him even being ready to play. I'd go with the players that have performed well so far, and I honestly think walters has put in two decent performances this season and Arnie and bojan have not. I'm not saying I would prefer walters over both for the entire season, but rather at the moment. I thought Bojan was our best player against Hull and I thought Walters was our weakest player against Citeh. But it's all about opinions I guess ... indeed, I thought bojan was at least partially responsible for the goal conceded at hull, and walters, despite his faults, is not going to get outmuscled by many.

Eh? The thread wasn't even started until after the window shut and according to the time stamp you posted it early this morning.
But anyway who would you leave off your bench to accommodate Assaidi?
I started this post after the deadline we'd signed Assaidi by then my bad, I didn't see that we had signed Assaidi before posting. And honestly didn't learn of it until Paul Spencer quoted me. I guess I should have paid more attention to the deadline day reports, and read the posts before mine.

It was a Gazza moment. It happens. Impossible to know who to blame. So I'll go with Whelan.

It will be really interesting to see who he goes with against Leicester. Really hope Arnie is out there. Granted he's had an average 2 games (despite being arguably our best player against Villa) but he's still our most talented forward option imo.

I don't think it's a case of picking teams for home or away any more.. We've got to set up depending on... Teams who will come and attack us... Vs teams who will sit back and try and hit us on the break. I think Leicester will do the latter... Especially at the Brit.. And when teams do that we struggle to break them down.. So for me Crouch has to start.. He gives us that extra option to lob a ball into... And always causes trouble for defences.... We'll probably improve as the season goes on.. But we just don't seem to have that defence splitting pass in us at the moment...
