Apologies if allready covered on here but I find it ludicrous that a third teir game can be called off due to international call ups.for me this sums up whats wrong with modern day football, the fact that crewe or whoever they are playing can bring in players from far flung european countries to the detriment of english players. imo you should not be able to call games off in the third or even fourth division due to international call ups.

The Faroe Islands and the Maldives FA have a lot to answer for in my opinion... Just imagine how many pensioners will now block the isles in Sainsburys instead.

No I am serious young english players are not getting a chance due to the influx of foreign players in the lower divisions.if they have 3 or more "internationals" they can call their game off, abolishing this rule for lower divisions will maybe discourage clubs from having so many in their squads

Crewe is a strange example to use when talking of young English/British players not getting a chance.
Incidentally, three of the players called up have been by home nations' under 21 sides(Wales and Northern Ireland). The other has been called up by Canada.

I thought it was more a case of the influx of foreign players at the top end of the game, means that British internationals and the younger quality players are having to ply their trade lower down the leagues?
Not a mass of foreign internationals playing in the lower leagues?
Seems a bit odd to criticize Crewe, a team who not long ago put out an entire first 11 of homegrown players and won!
Interesting post, though not sure op hit nail exactly on head?

The fans will be happy as they don't have to watch them getting another battering. League 2 for them methinks.

Interesting post, though not sure op hit nail exactly on head? I think you have something there. What is maybe even more worrying is that despite having all these GB age group internationals Crewe have started the season played 5/lost 5 in what is in reality Division 3. Doesn't exactly fill you with hope for the future for the 'home nations' does it ?!
