There's a brilliant new wave of 8-bit electronica sweeping across the states right now.

An old fave, Otway spunked the majority of the money he made off his one hit in the late 70s recording this with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, criminally it was a spectacular flop.

I thought Dana's Eurovision entry with 'All kinds of everything' was rather pleasant although I wasn't too keen on Johnny Logan.

There's a brilliant new wave of 8-bit electronica sweeping across the states right now. I wasn't going to bother posting on this fread, though I rarely miss an opportunity to post some obscure musical delight. It's a big assumption to presume there are 'brilliant songs only known to you', you'll often be surprised what seeps into peoples ears. I've got loads of unpopular music in my armoury.. A fantastic and gloriously packaged vinyl lp made for an exhibition by Dj Ordeal, I think there were only a dozen ever made. A cassette demo of a proposed double A vinyl 7" with added interludes that I know only two people have ever heard in it's intended form. Spring to mind. Loads of demos, live recordings and stuff that have never been up for public consumption. While I'm here. I've never been too impressed by your Dub Step crusade Clifford, I just don't get the ambient-ish lightweight nature of the vocal samples that seem to come with it. Burial included.} At the time I was going to post 'Wasteland:Amen Fire produced by I-Sound & DJ Scud on Transparent Records {Trans 02}', but couldn't find it on th'web. I do urge you to track it down if poss, see what you think. It's a bit of 'Dubstep' I can dig. I can't open pictures/musical links on the computer at the moment, so I may be attempting to 'teach you how to suck eggs' because I havn't viewed the 8 Bit post above yet, and I don't know owt about HEALTH.

HEALTH are fantastic, the 1st and 3rd tunes on here are from the Max Payne 3 RockStar game soundtrack. They have a truly massive sound. 2nd tune is from their DISC02 album. And the Kavinsky stuff isn't dub-step it's more aligned with French Electro... I'm not trying to be deliberately obtuse but most of what I like and listen to falls outside the broad categories we have on here, as i'm sure a great deal of the stuff you like also does, but i've changed the title of the thread in light of your comments, you're quite right... Don't think i've ever been on a dub-step crusade old bean, but what's not like about it? Jungle, break-beat, grime, drum & bass, tech-step, darkwave, dub-step...all the same to me. It's the sound of England, the Black Country, the Borders, Essex..just fantastic, exciting music.
