Even on a running track it's hard to work out who the quickest Stoke player is because running with the ball saps time. Maradonna was quick because the ball was glued to his feet.
Slowest players are easier to spot.
Gifton Noel-Williams always struck me as essentially immobile. Made Jon Parkin look athletic. Jay-Jay Okocha looked like SJW in comparison.
Who else?

Neville Southall...an 18 stone goalkeeper that could barely walk.

Remember a mid-week game against Ipswich one year ( who ever won went top ) early on one season , and seen Gerry Taggart have about 7-8 yards on Darren Bent after a ball , Gerry was leaning and forcing him out wide while the ball was traveling into the box , Bent sill went round him and got the ball Bent was quick but Gerry wasn't the quickest

Let's be honest, Neville Southall took some beating but we'll give him the benefit of the doubt as he was a keeper. There's been a few shitters since then as well. Ray Wallace wasn't exactly nippy although he worked bloody hard and seemed to get around the pitch surprisingly well. Paul Williams wasn't much pace wise either. Steven Tweed? David Oldfield? Bryan Small? There's a few from that team that weren't the quickest.
In our recent recent history fuck me Upson was slow. I mean he was fucking slow when he was in his prime, and he was well past that when we signed him. I remember one game (Can't for the life of me think who it was against) he came on as a sub early into the game (despite Woodgate also being on the bench) and just looked horrifically slow. Very committed, very passionate and always willing to battle but I remember the opposition striker turning him and it was like watching the fucking QE2. Just completely immobile, but did well considering what little natural ability he had.
There's Eidur as well of course.

Just watched the uber-knowledgeable Martin Keown talking about Shawcross and his lack of pace, so I think it's case closed.

Another vote for Bannister.
In a race between Gary and a glacier, Gary would get lapped
