We may have developed our game.
What we desire of our main striker may have moved on.
But today showed - with little doubt - that we are a better squad and team for having Crouch around.
Crouch's contract expires at the end of the season - let's give him at least another year. If nothing else, it would enable us to get something for him at the end of the season.
Come-on: sign him up (for another year)!

On today's performance yes most definitely , but let's wait and see. No rush after tomorrow is there...?

Has been one of our most reliable players since we bought him.

Longer term we need to think about replacing him for when he gets too old. The next 12 months or so would be perfect for bringing someone in to work alongside him and learn from him. Do we know of any 18-22 year old strikers who are 6'6"+ ?

Don't need to sign a new contract just yet. Wait and see what happens, make a move in March if need be.

Just because something worked for you once doesn't mean that it will work again. Manage the players. Don't let them mange you.

Very true but we've gone back to it again already this season, after trying to move away from it... so have we evolved by devolving?

Its not so much devolving or evolving as it is finding a balance.. Our direct play works, our stoic defence was back again too, but we have evolved to be more positive, look for the passes if there, and utilise direct play when needed. Plus we have bags of pace. In my opinion we could play long ball for 90% of a game, but as long as we are willing to adapt and play in a way that suits our players and troubles the opposition then we are definitely going in the right direction!

He's the squads Delap/Higginbotham. A proper professional head and genuine all round good bloke to have in the dressing room, as well as being a very handy footballer.
I'd keep him here for at least another year.

I liked the way he and Diouf played off one another. Any chance it could work with them and Bojan??

A very useful player, even if not a star striker anymore. Let's let him finish off his career here.
