Get well soon Pete. We need you! Just looked at it again, to me I couldn't see that he had twisted enough to do a ACL or PCL, hopefully just ligament or at worst cartilage. (Not actually an expert mind)

(Not actually an expert mind) Although twisting can cause damage to a ligament such as the ACL or PCL, they are often torn when hyper extended or jarred while landing on a locked knee. So, not being twisted isn't enough to say he didn't damage one of those two ligaments.

Hughes just on SSN saying still assessing it. Yep! Didn't sound like he thought he was out for the season. Great window for us, quality in and no quality out

Fingers crossed for Pete.
He's been a fantastic signing for us. Virtually single handedly transformed us from a side mired in a relegation battle to a side playing with pace, confidence and quality.
He plays with a smile on his face, seems to love playing for the club and plays the game with genuine enthusiasm.
If the injury is a bad one I trust the club will stick by him and do all they can to get him back. It certainly paid off when they stuck by Rory.
Hopefully it's not ACL and he's only out for a short time.

Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: “We thought we had concluded our incoming transfer business for this transfer window but we re-evaluated our plans after losing Peter to injury for the foreseeable future.” It raises the question how long is the "foreseeable future" of course and we shall find out. This is going to sound awful I know but Odemwingie is only on contract next June. If it tragically proves to be the case that he is unlikely to return before then and the will is not there to offer a new contract to someone who would by then be 34 years old you do wonder if we will see him in Stoke City shirt again We could really do with some good news here and so could Odemwingie. 2 months ago he was scoring in the World Cup Finals and now this. The Moses and Assaidi loan signings will bring us power and verve in Moses' case and fast feet in Assaidi's case but neither know where the back of the net is like Peter Odemwingie.

The way I look at it if it's really bad you know before you do a scan and they've done the scan and are assessing it,hopefully he won't be to long out action.

Perhaps a 1 year contract extension offered ASAP might send out a positive message. i.e. at Stoke we look after our own. Long term benefits to SCFC re signing Delap whilst out for ages were amazing.

I am staying optimistic with this until told otherwise. He will get the best medical treatment available I am sure. His importance off the field in terms of the positive vibes which appeared when he arrived, were very noticeable and were imho a major factor in turning our season around. Let's hope he remains involved behind the scenes whilst he is recuperating.

Long term benefits to SCFC re signing Delap whilst out for ages were amazing. but Rory wasn't already 33 at the time....to be fair there's a limit to how much of a "long term benefit" we can get with someone who's probably only got 1 year left (2 at a big push) in this league anyway. i see what you're saying and it would be nice to be loyal to him but to compare it to the rory situation just isn't a fair comparison. just hope it's not as bad as the media made out and he's back before the end of the season

He's infectious and looks genuinely over the moon when somebody else in the team scores - a real team player ( Disclaimer: I am a 33 year old man that hates modern day footballers etc)

Jut hope it's not ACL. We all know that if it is we have probably seen the end of him in a Stoke shirt and he might well have seen his last ever competitive football.
That said, even if it is, best care money can buy and a positive attitude can work wonders. Good luck Peter

Odemingie DID NOT land on an astro turfed area! Just watching the highlights (again) and he does step onto the astro in order to shift his weight to return to the grass. He drops to the grass after this - I don't believe that it was the landing that did the damage and I do believe that this change in surface has caused problems in earlier matches at the Etihad this season Whatever he has sustained a bad injury My concern is that this design of this type of pitch surround could cause further incidents for all players. It will take some time but let's hope that PO does make a good recovery we all send him our very best wishes

Exactly the same happened to Ring Tone at the Etihad with the Astro - the club should sue.

Isn't "astro turf" supposed to have exactly the same texture and consistency as grass these days anyway? I commented on Man City's daft astro strip about 4 yrs ago claiming that the change in texture (for want of a better word)so close to the touchline would cause someone some injury. Then I had a think about it and decided that in today's claim culture and blame society no right thinking company would expose themselves to such a possibility for the sake of a few sq.m of lawn. Therefore, the astro strip must be of the same consistency/texture as turf. Voila!

Moreno turned his ankle late on for Liverpool as well going from turf to astro, it's really not safe, especially if it's we when the Astro behaves completely differently to the turf.

You have now tried explaining this to folks 6 different ways and even included an illustration yet everyone is carrying glibly on as though your posts are somehow invisible or worse still backing up what they have already decided happened The moment to throw in the towel on making this point may be fast approaching

It looked as though he over stretched to me. Don't think it has anything to do with the astro.
Still, who cares. He's injured, we need an update on how bad it is, not a debate on whether we should 'sue' a club with so many lawyers we'd probably end up losing and paying THEM money.

if it is an ACL and he is out until the end of the season, we could possibly offer him a modest monthly contract during his rehabilitation with an agreement to offer a contract up to June 2016 if the rehab goes well and he looks as if he will be able to play at this level for another season. He would probably take that as he isn't going to get a contract from anyone else until he has proved his fitness.

"Possibly offer a modest monthly contract", get well or down the road - you didn't get where you are today by being a generous employer to someone injured in his line of work.

I know absolutely sod all about the physiology of this injury but the only thing that makes me think it's not ACL is that he didnt go down like a sack of spuds and he wasn't in absolute agony on the deck. I did mine when I was 17 playing football and its the most pain i've ever felt.
Lets just hope it's good news.
