Absolutely terrible news. He was instrumental in turning round our fortunes last season. We will really miss his goals and his overall attacking threat
A very good player and potentially a very sad end to his career. Gutted for him and gutted for us.

Terrible news. So sorry for us but above all for the lad. His commitment since he joined has been fantastic. I wish him all the very best

As someone says above, let's chuck a few million on Yarmy's fee to get him. However, tying up that with him being where he is.......Has he even visited Stoke. Can't see it happening now so say hello to Super Jon Walters on the right.
Very, very unfortunate for PO. He'll be a big miss.

Having done my knee ligaments (ACL) and had 4 operations on that knee myself, it looked like a bad ligament injury to me when I saw it in the flesh. Very sad news if true, and reason for Sparky getting Coates' cheque book out again today. Wishing Wingy a speedy recovery.

Believe he had medical etc when he visited Rookery Hall, weeks back but could be wrong.

Wow...that sounds bad for us but absolutely devastating on a personal level for PO. Fingers crossed it isn't that bad but I'm sure Sandoz won't have Tweeted that without some sort of information.

That's a huge blow. 12 months, Jeeees he must have ruptured the lot.
End of his top flight career by the sounds of it. Looks like we will need to deal tonight.

Well if he's out for the season he deserves a 1 year contract extension for his commitment and what he did for the club last season.

Shoot.
Really, really bad news all round. Was hopeful it was a Sandoz finger in the Twitter air special - but looks otherwise now.
And as someone who really didn't want / particularly rate him when he came, I am gutted for him (& us) that this could be curtains here.
Yarmo suddenly looks (looked) ideal but if that too has bit the buffers (if it was ever really on track) then not sure who out of the others I'd chose.
Not that mercenary Assaidi unless L'pool paid 95% of his wages anyway.

Whilst Yarmo and Assaidi are decent alternatives, I just don't see they have the defensive qualities that Wingi had.
Do we gamble on flair, or stick with work rate?
I guess we will know come 11pm

Absolutely gutted for him, he was the key player that turned our form around last season, seems to genuinely love it here and Sparky rates him very highly, can't see him coming back from this at 33, if he does I'll be staggered.

I thought it was ACL as soon as I saw it. I did mine at the Brit fans game in 2013 and I'm still struggling to get back to fitness. Massive blow. Like others, I'd be very surprised if he comes back properly.

Terrible, worst injury news to hit us since we lost Ricardo Fuller in the cup final year.
Peter Odenwinge has definitely been a big part of our improvement in 2014, I'm gutted for him, Stoke City and us fans.

Its not a career ending injury anymore.
He's a fit bloke and will be fine long term. He's got another 2 seasons left in him, at least.
Whether that's with us remains to be seen but this is a big blow to him and us.

Bad injury though it is, Odemwingie will be back.

If we didn't need any incoming players before the weekend, we certainly do now. He needs replacing.

I just find it hard to see him recovering fully at his age, it takes 1.5 - 2 years ( pretty much no matter what treatment ) to fully feel comfortable on it ( kneeling etc ).

Is it just a coincidence that both Geoff and Pete, the two players who came back to training later than the others, have been injured or do you think maybe our backroom staff are partly responsible, maybe we have rushed them too much? I know its unlikely as its not like there's aren't other WC players starting for Prem clubs, just seems a bit of a coincidence.
