We need him, he is so important for the team spirit.

Looked like it might be a 6-month job, not that you can always tell, but it has those kind of vibes.
Hope not, as that would be a real downer on an amazing day

Looked like a bad one to me, as well.
Walters took a knock also.
Perhaps we are short of options up front after all.

Looked like a knee hyperextension injury - could be a week or could be months.
Good luck, Peter, hope it's just a jar...

Looked to me like a problem with the PCL or ACL. Hopefully just a strain, but we wont know until he gets an MRI.

Mark Hughes sounds fairly optimistic that it is not much more than a twist, so fingers crossed the 2 week break will give him time to recover.

Never good when a 33 year old has a series injury. Especially when pace plays such a massive part in his game.
Ala Etherington.

On the press conference video snippet on here:"On Odemwingie, we're hopeful it's nothing too sinister. He's jarred his knee but we're hopeful it's just going to be sore for a week or so, but we don't think it's too serious - we're hopeful it's not anyway"

It wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for the stupid 3G/Astro perimeter that Citeh have.

It wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for the stupid 3G/Astro perimeter that Citeh have. In that area of the pitch there is plenty of grass, I don't think that had anything to do with PO's injury.

Looked to me like a problem with the PCL or ACL. Hopefully just a strain, but we wont know until he gets an MRI. The trouble with that is that it won't happen until the swelling has gone down which will probably be Tuesday/Wednesday and the deadline is tomorrow Will Stoke take the risk of potentially losing him long term with no replacement ?

Assaidi on loan? He does't appear to be going elsewhere!

I don't think we can take the chance & I reckon we'll go & get Assaidi . His agent is a greedy bastard but we may have to pay what he wants as he knows he's got us over a barrel.

Rather than buy Assaidi we'd be better to up our (alleged) offer for Yarmo by a couple of £million!

Any news on how long hes going to be out for Hughes suggested it might not be too serious and could be just a few weeks. But they won't know for sure until they do a scan and they can't do that until the swelling goes down in a few days.

Especially since we have so many players (diouf, Arnie, walters, bojan, Moses) who play where PO does.

Ouch! Has he played his last game for Stoke then? Matt Sandoz @mattsandoz1 · 1mVery bad news for @odemwingiep and stokecity - knee injury could rule him out for over 12 months. Fingers crossed he recovers quickly.

If that's true, can't see him playing for us again. Out of contract in the summer and he'll be 34 then.
Really sad news.

That's a real blow considering the huge impact he's had on our play, and the fact that he's a very capable, mobile centre forward too - which we may well require at points this season. The injury looked terrible at the time, I thought 'jarring' was too good to be true. Difficult to replace.
