Swansea are moaning that Uncle Woy has never been to their stadium to watch any of their players. Join the club chaps. How can this man be taken seriously when his sat nav only knows the way to Southampton?

Shelvey could perhaps feel hard done to with the likes of Colbeck being called up....

Shelvey could perhaps feel hard done to with the likes of Colbeck being called up.... And delph. Woy really is a joke. He doesn't want to do anything himself. He just wants to please the media. He is, literally, the media's bitch. Proven beyond doubt with the call up of chambers.

Shelvey could perhaps feel hard done to with the likes of Colbeck being called up.... I absolutely despise the twat, but I always feel a bit sorry for Nathan Dyer. How can a player who causes so many problems to Premiership defences week in week out (tore United's apart and scored against Burnley) be genuinely not given any kind of chance for England. What's more, our wide players were woeful at the World Cup, who knows he might have actually done something half decent. He seems to have the heart too. Yet I don't think he's even made the squad before, let alone get a cap. Bit harsh really.

How Woy is still in a job after the World Cup disaster is amazing. And to make it worse Greg Dyke said he did a good job! We might not have the greatest players currently available. Look at Costa Rica and what a good manager can do.

Is it only me who thinks Delph is a good player & worth a call up?
However Shelvey & (especially) Dyer should be getting caps now. Dyer is better than Townshend to be fair Townshend imprssed a lot of people for England didnt he.

I would have no problem having him at Stoke. You're also spot on with your next point. For me, Dyer is far better than Townshend. Andros is a flash in the pan. He did a few great things for England then totally fell of the radar with consistent woeful performances at Spurs. The reason Dyer has not been called up for me is truly inexplicable. Injuries aside, the guy has always been a good player and has consistently caused problems, even for the best defences in the Premiership. He is both footed and scores a few goals. Despite his tendency to dive, I would have him at Stoke in a flash. Not sure how he hasn't had a cap, but like I said, he's never even been called up... I have no idea why not though. He does play for Swansea though, and Swansea isn't very near to Southampton so it's not like Woy would pass him on the way through.

It is difficult to come to any other conclusion than if you play for certain clubs you don't get picked. Will that ever change though? Been going on for, well, decades & decades now.

Saying that, I would much prefer someone like him, Shelvey and dyer in the squad than Wilshere and Townsend.

I can see where Woy is coming from in not going to Swansea. They are Welsh and he probably doesn't think it is justified for him to go abroad watching English players.
As far as Stoke (and this applies to Swansea as well) are concerned, Woy probably feels that he's better concentrating on one team beginning with the letter s. He has chosen Southampton and got to know them and their players really well. Surely any right thinking fan would rather he did this than spread his efforts too thinly at Stoke and Swansea.
Well done Woy, sound management in my book.

Maybe if we played more English players he'd come, but doubt it. Even then doesn't stop him taking a look at us when the opponents have a few English players he wants to see.

I still think Shelvey is lucky not be playing in League One. He's certainly not pleasant to the eye but this should not detract from his over-all appreciation as a football player. Chambers was only called up coz he joined Arsenal. Now what kind of managerial decision is that ??!! as already stated in this thread Woy's nothing but a media bitch and his only interest is to keep his comfy seat and get the occasional invitation to tea by the queen

Just for the record I've never seen Jezza or Shelvey in the same room. He tells us he's in Bermuda but I can't prove it.

given th amount of soton players past and present in the england squad i can only assume that soton won the prem league and the champions league last season??? well....given the fact that Lambert, Rodriguez, Lallana and Shaw all thoroughly deserved call ups last season when they were put into the squad for the first time, i don't really see your point or problem here. yes, he spent too much time solely at their ground but to infer that the players that he picked for the squads from Southampton aren't good enough is, well...utter bollocks really

Trouble is if and when he does eventually come here he will be greeted by a chorus of 'Woy Hodgson you're a wanker' and he will never be seen again.

Not only should an England manager be looking at all English players in the Premiership, he should look outside the Premiership too.
But Woy wont, because he is a blinkered little Turd.

However much I agree that Roy is an arse of the highest order, the inclusion of Delph doesn't fit with this "Roy only picks media darlings" agenda that people tar him with, Delph is hardly from a trendy club and same could be said for Colback too. Personally I'm happy with their inclusions, its the only the CBs that I feel Roy gets wrong over and over again. Not just because of Shawcross, but the other top defenders who never get a look in like Curtis Davies or that Ward lad from Palace.

The main annoyance about him watching Southampton for so long was that he didn't actually have the balls to start any of their players at the World Cup until we were already going home. Shaw and Lallana got starts against Costa Rica, whilst Lambert had a couple of sub appearances. Hardly worth watching them all season just for that.
He also fucked up by not taking Cole and Terry. Both huge dickheads but would have made one hell of a difference to that England team, and likely been far better that Jagielka and Baines, who apparently have no understanding despite being teammates for 7 years.
I don't have any issue with him not picking Shawcross. Selfishly, I want Ryan as far away from the England team as possible.

Not only do I hope no bugger turns up for the norway friendly, I also hope no bugger watches on tele. No viewing figures would slowly start to get the message through to fuck him off.

I don't see what the problem is with him going to Southampton so often, everybody knows about Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard etc so he already knew what he was getting selecting them, but he needed to see if the lads at Southampton were the real deal, hence needing to attend more often.

Yes he spent his time at 16 of 18 Southampton home games to see if they were the real deal. Decided they were, took them all and never started a one.

The reason he goes to Saints is that he's just found out about a kiddie called Le Tissier.
