Not seen much of the lad. Does anyone know if he's in with a chance of breaking into the first team this season.

Saw him play against Betis and he looked decent enough but only the manager will know whether he's ready or not for Premier League action. My guess is that he's not nearly ready yet.

He's only 21 so maybe not just yet. Surprised he didn't get an opportunity last night though.

Interesting chriskamarasperm said he looked slow, a stone overweight and a out of the game. I didn't see the game so I am interested if, in your opinion, that is rubbish? Personally I would have Huth over Wilson any day of the week when fit and find the fact that others do not see it that way somewhat surprising.

Hmmm, bear in mind we were playing Portsmouth, League 2, so they didn't exactly have Arjen Robben up front. To me, he didn't look particularly trobuled by any of their strikers and while he may have been a bit slower than usual, pace has never been a huge part of his game. He put some good solid tackles in, although I noticed their striker won two headers against him so possibly he's still a bit off with his judgement. Like I said, I wouldn't start him against Man City because I think he would struggle, but a full 90 minutes can only be a good thing for fitness and hopefully with some more training he'll be back.

When Dion was brought in he was always going to be sent out on loan. I cannot see this not happening even though he has impressed more than the scouting trips gave him credit for

Thanks for the assessment mh.

Yeah that about says it for me too...................not "all" agree though about Huth being the best option when fit it seems........as I found out when I started a thread around this position and the best players at the club to be picked for it

Watching him play for the U21's now (currently 2-1 up V Derby), he looks strong.

I didn't think he was over weight either, he's always been a big youth (not in a fat way) but I do agree with the others, he was solid enough, but you could still tell he was some way off being ready.
