Was it the same lady that used to sing before kick off on a small stage in front of the Stoke End terrace when we were at the Vic? Anyone else remember that? (Mick Mills era)

(Mick Mills era) Dunno, but if I was a betting man I would doubt he's creaming his pants about a lady old enough to have been singing at the Victoria Ground as an adult over 30 years ago

Thank you Stokietougharmy. Sorry folks I thought it was brilliant along with the guys sat beside me. Sadly, yes years upon me,all 55 of them. Couldn't see from a distance her age and looks but I thought she was tremendous. Stuff the aweful PA system we have pre-match bring on the dancing every time. Enough said,I'm right your all wrong. Good evening, off for me cocoa and bed.

i think it was his girlfriend not daughter and he later married her I'm fairly sure it was his daughter. It certainly was his daughter. I met her once when I was in one of the boxes for a meeting before a match and she came around selling golden goal tickets. Even better close up than when she walked round the pitch. She must have a beautiful mum because she didn't get her looks (or her height) from her dad that's for sure. I liked Jackie as a player - but he was neither tall nor handsome. He was one of the first players at Stoke to be individually sponsored. He wore contact lenses and he was contracted to a firm who plastered his image all over the national newspapers. That was ground breaking stuff in the 60s and 70s. I remember a few games being stopped whilst everyone looked for a lens which had fallen out onto the pitch.

Remember all that, she always got a cheer, (and many comments,) from the Boothen End, understandably. Game stopped on many occasions for his contact lenses, expensive in those days. Good times.

i think it was his girlfriend not daughter and he later married her I'm fairly sure it was his daughter. Jackie Marsh bought me a pint in the Red House, Longton once, taking the 'ex-Stoke players who've bought Clams a pint' total to three*. His daughter and/or girlfriend wasn't with him though. *the others if you're interested - and I know you are - were Mickey Thomas (The Smithy, Longton, 2000) and Wayne Biggins (Crystal, Sheffield, 2005)
